An Old Purse Filled With Lots Of Memories

Hello Lovelies

Today I have a lifestyle type post for you all, which was spurred on by me finding an old purse in my drawer yesterday and looking through the contents. I keep the purse in the drawer of my lounge sideboard as it is a nice summery colour and I often think it would be nice to change my purse to this one for summer or use it as my holiday purse, is it just me that has a holiday purse?

Anyway I was looking through the purse and I found some things that brought back lots of memories mostly happy but sad also, I then spent about half an hour in floods of tears before putting everything back and returning the purse to the drawer. I thought I would share with you what I found.

The Purse

The purse is my old Radley purse, it is a lovely coral/orange colour and I used it all the time when I got it for my birthday many years ago, then when I got a new one I kept it just in case as I love the colour and had it in mind for holidays but for some reason didn't empty all the contents.

The first thing I came across were two photographs, one of Simon and one of the girls, the one of Simon was taken in 2002 during the world cup and the one of the girls was taken in 2000.

Both photo's made me smile, the girls look so cheeky and happy bless them, that was taken in a photo booth in Tesco, I'd taken them for passport photographs and we had one left so Lissy dived on Coles knee, I think you'll agree they look very cute!

The next thing I found is a little paper heart coloured in that says mummy on it, Lissy made me this one day and cut it out, she was probably around 5 years old and had got a new stationary set with scissors in and she thought she was very grown up using them although apart from thin paper and fresh air I doubt they'd cut much.

Then I came across something that made me smile a lot, when Lissy was little she was always making us laugh, she still does, she is very witty and funny and has always been the same, we used to say she was bonkers, and out of that she decided to make a "Lissy's Big Bonkers Club" the members were, Lissy, me, Simon, Cole and Grandma and Grandad and we all got our own special Big Bonkers membership ticket with a membership number on the back, my mum still has hers too but unfortunately Simon had his wallet stolen last year and his was in his wallet, he was so upset to lose it and his Big Bonkers membership ticket was the thing he was most upset at losing.

The last thing I found made me cry, as you will know if you have been following my blog or watching my Youtube channel for a while, I lost my lovely friend Donna to cancer in October 2007, and in my purse was the obituary from our local newspaper.

The obituary from our local paper

I was sad when I found this, and cried. I have blanked out Donna's surname and also the details of the hospice and church etc purely to provide privacy for her husband and children. This also brought back memories, really sad memories but then happy ones too, I thought about the funny things we had done and things we said and laughed at but it still broke my heart at the same time, I miss Donna every day and there is not a day goes by when I don't think of her.

So those are some precious things that I found in my old purse, they don't mean anything to anyone else but to me they are the most precious things in the world and I would be devastated if I lost any of them. I have decided to put them in a safe place then if I lose my purse or have it stolen I won't lose these things that are of extreme sentimental value to me.

I hope you enjoyed this post, it is something a little bit different but I hadn't written a lifestyle post for a while and wanted to share my finds with you all. Do you keep sentimental things in your purse? Or have you got an old purse in a drawer? You might just find some sentimental treasure in there.

Thank you for reading, much love as always,

Zoe x
