OOTD - A Birthday BBQ

Hello Lovelies,

Today I have another fashion post for you, it's an OOTD or outfit of the day if you're not familiar with the abbreviation, and the outfit is one I recently wore for a birthday bbq we went to to celebrate Lissy's boyfriend Will's 18th birthday.

The party was red and black themed to represent Will's love for musicals and the part he played in a performance of Les Miserables, it wasn't a compulsory theme but since I have plenty of black in my wardrobe it wasn't too hard for me to find an outfit.

What I Wore

Black Jumpsuit - Dorothy Perkins (old) - Similar from New Look here and similar plus size option from Misguided here
Black Wedge Sandals - Primark (old) - Similar from New Look here
Black & White Clutch - Primark - Similar from ebay here
Necklace - Dorothy Perkins (old)

For make up I went for a neutral eye look with a red lip and chose La Vie En Rouge from MAC on my lips, a gorgeous bright red matte lipstick. On my nails and toe nails I wore the Max Factor gel polish in Patent Poppy available here.

The jumpsuit is really comfortable to wear, I love jumpsuits they're so versatile, I can wear mine casually or dressy, if you've never tried a jumpsuit I'd certainly recommend them, they're comfortable and look great for so many different occasions, mine will be coming on my holidays with me where I'll wear it with flat sandals and a brightly coloured statement necklace and bag.

The wedge sandals from Primark were a great buy, I've had mine for 2 years now, I also have a pair in a bright orangey red colour which are also lovely but they are more orange than red so didn't quite fit with the theme, Primark do have very similar sandals in stock at the moment, I bought Lissy some a few weeks ago, you can see them in this haul video. Simon didn't have anything black so he opted for a pink and white shirt with jeans and tan shoes but as I said it wasn't compulsory so it wasn't a problem that he didn't wear black and when we arrived quite a few of the guests hadn't gone with the theme so he didn't feel out of place.

We took a cheeky taxi selfie on the way to the party, well it'd be rude not to and you can see my lipstick and necklace better in the selfie although it isn't the best quality at all I'm afraid.

I hope you liked my outfit, what would you have worn to a red and black themed birthday BBQ?

Thank you for reading, much love as always,
