Paul And Joe Lipgloss - Review And SwatchesFriday, January 20, 2017
A few days before Christmas I received my first ever Paul & Joe beauty product, I have often looked at their products whilst browsing online and have always loved the look of their products and packaging but hadn't actually purchased anything so I was really pleased when I opened a parcel to find a lipgloss from the brand, it felt like an early Christmas gift.
Paul & Joe was started by Sophie Mechaly in 1995 as a menswear brand, named after her two sons, she she launched a womenswear line in 1996 and then launched Paul & Joe beauty in 2002. Sophie Mechaly's philosophy is to thoroughly enjoy life and value every moment which I love, I also love that the beauty products all have amazing packaging bringing a sense of happiness, the "cat lipsticks" are amazing and always make me smile. A lot of the Paul & Joe beauty products are released as Limited Edition products which means that if you see something you like, it's a good idea to grab it whilst you can. The lipgloss I am sharing with you today is also a limited edition product but have no fear, I have managed to find it for you so if you like it, you can still pick one up.
The lipgloss is the shade 002 Christmas Wish and was part of the Paul & Joe Christmas collection, it is described as a "rose pink" and I think this describes it perfectly. The packaging of the lipgloss is stunning, the box is illustrated beautifully and the lipgloss is so pretty, I love the floral design on the tube. The lipgloss has a brush type wand applicator which is easy to use making the gloss easy to apply.
I'm not a massive lipgloss wearer and for the last few months have chosen a matte lip over a glossy lip but I have really enjoyed wearing the lipgloss since receiving it, it looks beautiful worn alone or over some of my nude lipsticks and liners. The formulation isn't sticky and feels comfortable on the lips, it wears well and lasts well too, including with eating and drinking and wears away nicely without leaving an unsightly ring of colour around my lips.
I love the colour of the gloss, it has just the right amount of pigment so I can wear it alone but doesn't distort the colour of my lipsticks and liners, it compliments them really well. I particularly like wearing it over my Soar lip liner from MAC and my Charlotte Tilbury lip liner in Pillow Talk, but also enjoy wearing it alone, it is great for those days when I don't want to wear a lot of makeup and just use a touch of corrector under my eyes, some mascara and the lipgloss, it perks my face up just enough but looks stunning worn with full makeup also.
002 Christmas Wish is limited edition, but you can find it here priced at £7.50 (was £15.00) If you would like to seek out more from Paul & Joe, you can also find Paul & Joe beauty products on the Beauty Bay website here, the Selfridges website here or the ASOS website here.
Now I have tried my first ever Paul & Joe beauty product and I am seriously impressed, I would love to try more beauty products from the brand, if their other products are anything like the lipgloss, they will be incredible!
Thank you for reading, much love as always
