Spring Makeup From Paul And JoeFriday, March 17, 2017
Until the very end of last year, I hadn't ever tried any Paul & Joe makeup products, I had seen them online and always thought they had amazing packaging, but hadn't actually tried any of their products, and then when I received one of their lip glosses I was really impressed. I recently received some more Paul & Joe makeup items and I have been trying them out over the last couple of weeks, the products I received are the Eyeshadow Compact, Eyeshadow Trio, Waterproof Eyeliner and the Glossy Lip Colour.
Paul & Joe Eye Colour Trio Refill - £23.00 And Compact - £7.00
The compact I have to house the eyeshadow trio has a lovely butterfly design on an olive green background and is really pretty, inside the compact is peach and the eyeshadow trio fits in perfectly, the compacts are also suitable to house the Paul & Joe blush compacts.
The Paul & Joe Eyeshadow Trio I received is in the shade Antique Clock and contains 3 shadows, 2 shimmer and 1 matte. The eyeshadow trio refill is available in 12 shade options so if this trio isn't something you would choose, there are 11 other options. The shades in the trio I have are a yellow gold, a cream and a medium warm brown, all the shades are lovely and pigmented, they apply really well and blend beautifully. I like to apply the matte brown to my crease area and use the shimmer shades on my lid, the middle shade is also lovely as a highlight under the brow bone, and in the inner corner of my eye.
The eyeshadow trio comes in clear plastic packaging and the eye shadows are housed in a pale peach plastic packaging and there is a double ended sponge applicator. I don't use the sponge applicators to apply my makeup but I do like to use them to create nail looks, bit of a tip for those of you who like to paint your nails, the sponge applicators that often come with eye shadows are brilliant for creating ombre nail looks.
The eyeshadow trio fits perfectly into the compact and creates a really pretty compact.
Waterproof Eyeliner - £13.00
I love the packaging of the waterproof eyeliner, it is off white with a pink lid and gold writing and looks so pretty yet classy, it has to be the prettiest eyeliner I own. I have the shade Noir, a jet black but the waterproof eyeliner is available in 5 shades should black not be for you. The eyeliner is extremely soft and applies beautifully and feels extremely comfortable to apply when applying to the upper and lower waterline. I like to use it along my upper lash line and wiggle it between my lashes to make them appear fuller but I have also worn it on my waterline quite a few times too.
The eyeliner has a twist up applicator and is very easy to use, unfortunately if you twist too much you cannot retract it but a gentle push on the actual nib of the liner helps. I think this has to be the softest eyeliner I have used and it is really nice, it applies well, smudges out beautifully with a brush and doesn't smear everywhere when I wear it on my waterline, it really is a fabulous eyeliner.
Glossy Lip Colour - £20.00
I usually shy away from lip glosses because I don't like the sticky feel they can leave or the way my hair sticks to them, but after loving the lip gloss I received from Paul & Joe just before Christmas, I had high hopes for the Glossy Lip Colour. I received the shade Eglantine, a lovely nude shade with pinky undertones. There are 10 shades available in the collection, some lovely nudes, a gorgeous red and some stunning bright shades, there is a shade to suit everyone.
The lip gloss has a double sided applicator which feels very comfortable on the lips, the gloss is easy to apply and isn't messy at all. The gloss is very pigmented and in one swipe I have a lovely opaque shade, my lips feel very soft and nourished, look lovely and glossy and the best bit, it isn't sticky. I can't bear a sticky gloss but this isn't sticky, it is lovely and moisturising and provides a nice opaque glossy lip. The shade I have is perfect for me, it is described as a "relaxing rosy pink" but I feel it is more of a pinky nude.
I really like all the products and I am pleased I have been able to try them, all of the products are extremely pigmented and both apply and wear well. I love the packaging of the products, it is so pretty and as pink is my favourite colour, it is the perfect packaging for me. My favourite product out of them all has to be the waterproof eyeliner, it is brilliant and I think finding an eyeliner that doesn't move is difficult but this really is brilliant. I love the gloss and the eyeshadow trio too, all the products are lovely for creating a nice spring look but can be worn all year round.
If you like the look of the products I have shown you today and would like to try them out for yourself, you can find the eyeshadow trio here, the waterproof eyeliner here and the glossy lip colour here.
