The Lee Stafford Chopstick Styler - Review Including Before And After Photographs

The Lee Stafford Chopstick Styler - Review Including Before And After Photographs

My hair is very thin and straight and doesn't hold a style well, in fact it doesn't hold a style, at all hence me having the style I have, long, straight hair with lots of long layers which are designed to help my hair look thicker, but don't. Having straight hair, I have always wanted curly hair and over the years I have tried various methods of curling my hair but to no avail, including having my hair permed in a "corkscrew perm" as a teenager and even that didn't hold and dropped the first time my hair was washed. I have tried wands, tongues and straighteners and although my hair does curl initially and looks lovely, after around 20 to 30 minutes the curls drop out completely.

When I was asked if I would like to try the Lee Stafford Chopstick Styler £19.99 I was thrilled, I have seen styles other people have created with them on Pinterest and I would love to have the same look so I said "yes please I'd love to" and kept everything crossed that for once, I might have curly hair.

USING THE CHOPSTICK STYLER

Unfortunately I am unable to curl my own hair using the styler due to the way in which my medical conditions and disabilities affect me, so my lovely daughter Cole kindly said she would curl my hair for me using the styler.

Cole brushed my hair through and sectioned it off leaving some of my hair down at the back, she started at the back of my head and she curled my hair in the same direction throughout. Cole took pieces of my hair in different thicknesses, around an inch thick or a little thicker or thinner and wrapped the hair around the wand from the top of the wand to the bottom. Cole held my hair in place for around 10 seconds and then unravelled my hair from the wand.

Once that section of my hair was curled, Cole took some more of my hair down and curled that section in exactly the same way and continued to take down sections until all my hair was curled. It took around 30 minutes to curl my hair which I thought was really good considering the length of my hair.

Cole said the Chopstick Styler was in her words "mega easy to use" and she didn't burn herself at all while using the styler, which she feared she may do when she first took plugged it in. I sat in our lounge when having my hair curled and we placed the styler on our sideboard using the stand a few times and it worked perfectly and we didn't end up with a burned sideboard. Once my hair was all curled, Cole unplugged the styler and set it down on the side to cool down, before placing it back in the box, it cooled down a lot faster than I expected which is a good thing as there is no waiting round for ages to put it away.

THE FINISHED RESULTS

BEFORE

This is my natural hair, washed, blasted with the hair dryer and brushed, it had gone a little wavy due to me being in pain and getting very hot, I have strange hair that won't hold a style but if I get really hot and perspire for some reason it ends up like this despite being very straight.

Cole used her fingers to comb through the curls.

I documented how my hair looked after an hour, two hours and then five hours.

OVERALL THOUGHTS

I was absolutely blown away how easily my hair curled and how little time it took to curl my whole head of hair considering the size of the pieces of hair Cole used, and I was absolutely astounded that my hair actually held a curl for once, my hair was super curly when it was first curled and after Cole had combed it through with her fingers, it did drop throughout the day but for me it is a miracle the curl held for longer than 30 minutes and especially after 5 hours, my hair is usually straight again within 30 minutes.

Over the next few hours after the photograph was taken after five hours, my hair did drop a little more but it was still curly when I went to bed at midnight, I couldn't believe it. The morning after my hair was still wavy and looked like I had deliberately had it styled in a beachy waves kind of style, and it lasted all day. I was and still am incredibly impressed with the styler and the results, my friends and family loved my hair curly, unfortunately I have been unwell since having it curled, so haven't been able to have it curled since but next time Alicia is going to curl it for me and she said she will start nearer to my scalp so the curls start higher up and she is going to use thicker pieces of hair, for a different look, so keep an eye on my Instagram for photographs if you would like to see the results.

I think it's safe to say, I love the Lee Stafford Chopstick Styler, it is simple to use, heats up in seconds, is super lightweight, you can create multiple different styles from cork screw curls to beachy waves, it doesn't take long to curl a full head of long hair, it comes with a 2 year guarantee and it is £19.99 it really doesn't come much better than that does it?

I think is a brilliant price for such a good hair tool and I know we've not had Halloween yet but I'm going to mention the C word, this would make an ideal Christmas gift, I honestly can't recommend it enough. You can check out the Chopstick Styler and other tools and products on the Superdrug website.
