MeMeMe Lip Sheen In Wild Plum

Hello Lovelies,

MeMeMe cosmetics are an affordable luxury cosmetics range, combining premium formulations with quirky and distinctive design. Created by women for women the range comprises on trend and classic lines, all of which embody the bohemian influence and free spirit inspiration of the brand. Me Me Me products are dermatologically tested but never tested on animals.

MeMeMe have a brand new lip product launch, their Lip Sheen which launched on October 1st, the Lip Sheens are a perfect combination of the colour impact of a lipstick and the shine of a lip gloss with a light weight, non sticky formulation designed to moisturise and nurture your perfect pout. Simply slick on for a daytime look or layer up for a more dramatic night time statement look. Formulated with shea butter and aloe vera to nourish and protect the lips the MeMeMe Lip Sheens are available in nude, bright and deep colour tones with 10 on trend shades to choose from. I received the shade Wild Plum to try out ahead of the launch and couldn't wait to try it.

The first thing I noticed about the Lip Sheen was the packaging, it is completely different from anything else I own, the outer box is black and off white with some raspberry pink/plum patterns on each side of the box, on the top of the box where you open it there is an image of a cherub, then inside the box reveals the Lip Sheen packaging which again like nothing else I own, it is black and off white patterned with the same cherub on top and the brand logo written on the bottom part of the product at the front. The lid is cardboard but the lip sheen is housed in a plastic casing, I love the packaging, it is lovely and stands out from anything else I own, it's classy and elegant but bohemian at the same time, it's stunning.

Wild Plum is a stunning shade it's a gorgeous blue toned bright raspberry pink/plum, you can see the blue tones in the photograph above, it really is a beautiful shade.

The finish of Wild Plum is a gorgeous glossy finish that feels very nourishing on the lips but despite it being so glossy it isn't sticky at all. It is highly pigmented with the swatch in the photograph above being just one swipe and can be worn as in the swatch above or layered for a more dramatic look, I have worn the lipstick both ways and both look beautiful, Wild Plum is a lovely shade and one I feel could be worn all year round but is also a stunning shade for the autumn/winter months.

The Lip Sheen applies well and isn't tricky to apply at all, it lasts really well on my lips and fades away nicely without leaving any unsightly rings of colour around my lips, I wear the lipstick for a good 4 hours without having to re apply and receive so many compliments on it when I wear it, it is a lovely glossy finish but has an amazing staying power and the best thing for me that it isn't at all sticky, that's the one thing that always puts me off wearing a gloss finish lip product but I didn't experience any stickiness at all with the Lip Sheen, I also didn't experience any bleeding at all or feathering around my lips which is something that can happen when I'm wearing a glossy finish lipstick.

I really like the Lip Sheen, it applies well, isn't sticky, wears well and fades evenly without any smudging or bleeding, it is long lasting and provides a lovely glossy finish and feels super nourishing on my lips, it's a fantastic product and I can't wait to see the other 9 shades.

If you would like to try one of the new MeMeMe Lip Sheens they are priced at £9.95 and available from the MeMeMe cosmetics website.

Ole Henriksen Invigorating Night Cream

Ole Henriksen Invigorating Night Cream

Ole Henriksen Invigorating Night Cream

Hello Lovelies,

It's no secret I'm a huge skin care geek I have a real passion for skin care and love trying out new products for my extremely dry and dehydrated skin. One brand I had not yet tried was Ole Henriksen so when I received the Invigorating Night Creme I was really excited, I love trying out new brands and I'd also heard a lot of good things about the Ole Henriksen brand too so I couldn't wait to try it.

The Invigorating Night Creme is a balancing and brightening night cream which works whilst you sleep, it is infused with youth enhancing ingredients to smooth the texture of your skin whilst fortifying the skins natural barrier. At the heart of the formula there is Alpha Hydroxy Complex which is super enriched with glycolic, lactic and fruit acids that deeply penetrate the skin to encourage cell renewal and reveal smoother skin. The fruit acids act as a light exfoliator breaking down the dead skin cells and boosting the skins elasticity.

The Invigorating Night Cream has a rich gel like consistency and feels lovely, it applied beautifully and sank into my skin nicely too, I'm used to using a night creme with more of a thicker consistency almost like a thick moisturiser so I was a little worried that the Ole Henriksen wouldn't be hydrating or nourishing enough for my extremely dry and dehydrated skin but I didn't need to worry as it feels amazing on my skin, it sinks in beautifully and feels amazing on my skin.

I noticed a difference to my skin the morning after I'd first used the Invigorating Night Cream my skin looked brighter and felt so smooth and after using it for around 3 to 4 weeks now my skin feels amazing, I've also noticed the fine lines I get because of dehydration aren't as obvious either, it really is working and I am extremely impressed with it, it is very nourishing and my skin feels soft and smooth and completely hydrated and looks so much brighter and plumper too, the results have been fantastic and I'm really pleased, my make up looks so much nicer too I really can't praise it enough.

There is a scent to the Invigorating Night Cream it's not over powering but not subtle either and it's a scent I've found difficult to describe, it smells a little fruity but also a little floral, it's not my favourite scent in the world but it isn't horrible either and it certainly wouldn't ever put me off using the night cream.

Overall I am extremely impressed with the Invigorating Night Cream I love the texture and consistency of the cream, it applies well and sinks into my skin beautifully and the difference it has made to my skin is incredible, I also love that I don't need to use a lot of product meaning it should last me quite a while, I absolutely adore it and would highly recommend it to anyone and especially if like me you have dull and dehydrated skin it really has made such a fantastic difference, I'm absolutely thrilled!

If you would like to try the Ole Henriksen Invigorating Night Cream you can find it on the Escentual website for £47.00.

Escentual have a fantastic range of Ole Henriksen products including some amazing gifts for Christmas, if you'd like to check those out you can find them on their website.

Youngblood Purely The Basics Mineral Cosmetics Kit - Medium

Hello Lovelies,

Youngblood cosmetics is an award winning premium luxury mineral cosmetics brand and is available from Beauty Expert one of my favourite places to buy beauty products online. Youngblood products are paraben, talc, oil, fragrance and cruelty free and their packaging is made from recyclable materials. I had never tried mineral makeup before, having dry and dehydrated skin I've always assumed it would't be right for my super dry skin so when I recently received the Purely The Basics Kit in Medium to try out from Youngblood I was really eager to see if my assumptions were correct.

The Purely The Basics Mineral Cosmetics Kit Contains

✿ Mineral Rice Setting Powder In Soft Beige (3g)

✿ Natural Mineral Foundation In Honey (3g suitable for neutral skin tones)

✿ Natural Mineral Foundation In Soft Beige (3g suitable for warmer skin tones)

✿ Crushed Mineral Blush In Plumberry (3g)

✿ Hi-Def Translucent Powder (sample 0.5g)

✿ Kabuki Brush

✿ Instruction Card

Mineral Rice Setting Powder In Soft Beige

Natural Mineral Foundation In Soft Beige

Natural Mineral Foundation In Honey

Crushed Mineral Blush In Plumberry

Hi-Def Translucent Powder

The Kabuki Brush

The Instruction Card

My Thoughts & Application

As I said I hadn't ever tried any mineral cosmetics before receiving the products from Youngblood always assuming my extremely dry skin would be a problem.

The instruction card that came with the kit was really helpful with extremely clear and easy to follow instructions, on one side of the card there is a description of each product and on the other side there are step by step instructions of how to use each product and in what order. All the products have little holes in the top so you don't waste any product, I found the best way to use them was to tap a little of the product into the lid and then use the kabuki brush provided to apply the products.

I applied the products as instructed on the card, first ensuring my skin was hydrated, I applied the mineral rice setting powder all over my face to prime my face and lock in moisture, next I applied the natural mineral foundation in the shade Honey which is most suited to a neutral skin tone, I actually have a cool tone to my skin but this shade was perfect for my skin tone and as I've recently returned from Greece and have a tan the shade was perfect too, I applied the foundation by using circular motions starting at the outside of my face and working inward as the card instructed and built up the foundation to the coverage I wanted, next I applied the crushed mineral blush to the apples of my cheeks and blending out and upwards towards the outside of my face, I finished off by applying some of the hi-def translucent powder.

I was pleasantly surprised when I started to apply the products, I thought they would be quite hard to work with and that I would struggle to blend them into my skin because it is so dry but I was wrong, the setting powder applied well and left my skin with a matte finish and my pores also looked a lot better too, once I started to apply the foundation I couldn't believe how easy it was to apply I used circular motions and buffed the foundation into my skin, it applied beautifully and with ease and looked lovely and I was left with a lovely glow to my skin, one thing I noticed and was really pleased about was that I didn't need to use any concealer at all, the foundation can be built up so the finish is entirely up to you whether you prefer a light, medium or full coverage, I opted for a light to medium coverage as this is my coverage of choice. The blush is absolutely stunning and is a beautiful pinky/plum shade with a golden shimmer it really is beautiful especially for autumn/winter but would look lovely all year round, I usually prefer a matte blush but Plumberry is stunning with just the right amount of shimmer and I love it! The sample of hi-def translucent powder is great and finished the look off beautifully, I worried when I saw it was a sample size but the amount I used it really isn't a problem as only a tiny amount is needed to dust over the face.

The products are highly pigmented so I only needed to use a small amount of each product and I also use a light hand when applying the products since they are so pigmented, all the products applied beautifully and I was left with a really stunning look and my dry skin wasn't a problem at all, none of the products settled into my dry skin or fine lines I was really pleased with the look and my assumptions of mineral make up were definitely wrong, I honestly thought the make up would look cakey and settle into any fine lines I have or settle into pores but I couldn't have been more wrong, my skin looked amazing even when using the products for the first time, I've had more and more practice with the products now and I love using the kit, the products give me a lovely coverage with a gorgeous glow to my skin and the blush is just stunning, I am completely in love with the kit it's stunning.

Overall Thoughts & Would I Re Purchase?

I would definitely re purchase the Purely The Basics kit and would highly recommend it to anyone and especially if you're like me and always shied away from or been concerned about using mineral cosmetics, Youngblood have a fantastic range of products available from the Beauty Expert website and I will definitely be checking out their other products as the products I've tried have been incredible.

I was completely wrong about mineral make up being wrong for my dry skin and the finished look is beautiful, so many people have complimented me and told me I look well and my skin is lovely which for me is a massive compliment as I struggle so much with my skin. My favourite product would have to be the blush it is stunning and again something that surprised me as I normally much prefer a matte blush to a shimmer one but Plumberry has just the right amount of shimmer and is a beautiful shade too I am in love. The kit also comes in light so if you have a paler complexion there is  a kit for you too.

I am really happy with everything about the Purely The Basics kit the packaging is sleek and classic but sturdy too, the products are incredible and amazingly pigmented meaning a little goes a long way,  the brush washes well and doesn't shed and is easy to use, it is a nice size not too big or small, I honestly cannot think of a negative thing to say about the kit, it would be the perfect gift for any make up lover and it's a fantastic way of trying out both the Youngblood products and if you're a newbie to mineral make up like me it's a brilliant kit to enable you to try it out.

For someone who always thought mineral make up would never work for them, I'm hooked!

If you would like to try the Youngblood Purely The Basics Kit in medium you can find it on the Beauty Expert website here for £39.00 it is also available in light.

Have you tried Youngblood? Do you use mineral make up or have you always shied away from it like I did?

Thank you for reading, much love as always,

Makeup Revolution Matte Blush Collection - Review And Swatches

Makeup Revolution Matte Blush Collection - Review And Swatches

Hello Lovelies,

Since Makeup Revolution launched in March 2014 they have literally revolutionised (if you'll pardon the pun) the make up world by bringing amazing products at affordable prices with prices starting as little as £1 and launching new products faster than you can say "make up" including some incredible dupes for high end products. Recently Makeup Revolution launched a collection of 6 matte blushers and one makeup product I cannot resist is blusher, for years I didn't wear it because my skin is very pink toned and I didn't think it suited me but after trying and loving blush I've been hooked ever since. Matte blushers are my favourite blush formula so when I arrived home form my holidays to some lovely products from Makeup Revolution including all 6 of the matte blush collection I have to admit I let out a squeal of delight.

There are 6 blushers in the matte blush collection with a stunning shade range of pinks and peaches to nudes and brights there is something for everyone and something to suit all skin tones too from the very pale to much deeper skin tones, the packaging is sleek and elegant but sturdy and a great size for both my make up bag and handbag, I particularly like the clear lid so the shade of the blush can be clearly seen making it easier when searching through my collection or make up bag, the names of the blushers are printed on the bottom of the packaging too. There is a whopping 8.9 grammes of product in each blush and they are priced at £3.00 which is an amazing price for such a huge amount of product.

My Thoughts

As soon as I applied the first of the blushers I tried from the collection which was Nude I was blown away by the pigmentation and soon realised after trying them all that all 6 blushers are insanely pigmented and a light hand is needed when applying them. They all apply beautifully and last well on my skin leaving a beautiful matte finish, I adore all 6 shades and use them all, at first I did think I wouldn't get as much use out of New Rules and Nude but I was wrong and have used them just as much as all the other shades, New Rules gives a beautiful flush of colour and looks amazing with a neutral eye and nude lip make up look. My favourites are Beloved a lovely peach/coral shade and Dare a bright blue toned pink but they are all beautiful and look lovely, there is a shade to compliment any make up look and the blushers are ideal for either a subtle day look or a dramatic evening look.

I really am impressed by all the shades in the collection from the packaging to the pigmentation with everything in-between these really are brilliant blushers and the fact they are matte is just perfect for me.

Overall Thoughts & Would I Re Purchase?

I think you have probably already guessed that I adore all 6 of these blushers, the pigmentation is incredible, I only need to use a little of each product and they leave the most amazing matte finish to my skin that lasts really well. The shade range is perfect and in my opinion there is something to suit everyone and every skin tone too, the blushers apply beautifully with a light hand needed because the pigmentation is so brilliant especially with the brighter shades.

I've loved using the blushers since returning from my holidays and I know I'll get a lot of wear out of them all, I find myself reaching for these blushes on a regular basis and in fact I haven't used a high end blush since returning from Greece almost 4 weeks ago.

The price of the blushers is amazing at £3.00 each for 8.9 grammes of product and with great packaging too, they really are an incredible product and one I would recommend in a heartbeat and will most definitely be re purchasing.

If you would like to try any of the blushers from the Makeup Revolution matte blush collection you can find them all on the Make Up Revolution website for £3.00 each.

Have you tried the Makeup Revolution matte blush collection? Whats your favourite shade? And if you're a lover of Makeup Revolution what is your favourite Makeup Revolution product?

Thank you for reading, much love as always
