Sunday Riley Luna - Sleeping Night Oil

Sunday Riley Luna Sleeping Night Oil

I have seen Sunday Riley Luna Sleeping Night Oil £45.00 15ml, spoken about highly on blogs and social media for around 3 years now and it has been on my wishlist ever since I first read about it, but the hefty price tag always put me off. So when I received the 15ml bottle for Christmas, I was absolutely thrilled and couldn't wait to try it and had my fingers crossed that it would be worth that price tag but also worried I would love a really expensive product, no win really is it? It's either not worth it, or I love it and then it's a fortune!

Sunday Riley Luna Sleeping Night Oil

What Is Luna?

The Sunday Riley Luna Sleeping Night Oil is a night time treatment oil which contains a Trans Retinol Ester to help fight signs of fine lines and wrinkles, Blue Tansy which is an anti inflammatory, helps to prevent redness and heal damaged skin and is also known for it's healing properties with eczema and dermatitis. Avocado Seed, Chia and Grapeseed Oil to plump the skin and reduce the appearance of fine lines, German Chamomile which soothes inflamed and irritated skin and Luna is also rich in Vitamin A, B, C, D and E.

" The power of retinol blended with soothing, potent botanicals for the ultimate transformation. Luna's retinoid complex works through the night to deliver more youthful, luminous, even toned skin in the morning. Trans retinoic acid ester reduces the appearance of pores and wrinkles, while visibly improving the signs of premature ageing, fine lines, uneven texture, age spots, dryness and dullness. Blue Tansy and German Chamomile essential oils, both rich in soothing, blue azulene, help to visually reduce redness and neutralise the signs of sensitivity, for a calm, even toned complexion. Clinically proven to improve the appearance of fine lines, radiance and skin smoothness in 4 weeks."
My Thoughts

Sunday Riley Luna Sleeping Night Oil

I like the packaging of Luna, the box has a lot of useful information on it which I like, (I don't like information sheets) the lid lifts off the box and the Luna is housed in the base of the box, it has a pipette style applicator and is in a dark blue square bottle.

Sunday Riley Luna Sleeping Night Oil

The Luna oil is a blue/green colour but does fade once rubbed into the skin, I use around 4 drops for my full face, bearing in mind though that my skin is extremely dry and dehydrated, I would imagine 2-3 drops would be ok if your skin isn't desert like, like mine.

Sunday Riley Luna Sleeping Night Oil

I apply the Luna after I have cleansed my face and used my acid toner at night, twice a week, this is the recommended way of using it. Luna has a scent but I can't for the life of me describe it, it isn't a nice scent but it isn't horrible either and it doesn't linger, it disappears soon after applying.

The first time I used the Luna, I was absolutely amazed at the difference in my pores the following morning, I have visible pores on my nose and chin and I was shocked at the difference in them after just one application, they were so much less noticeable. The morning after I first used Luna, I used my usual skincare products and found my serum and moisturiser took longer to sink in on my forehead than the day before, meaning my skin wasn't as dehydrated, so two very obvious differences after the first use which was impressive.

I have been using the Luna Sleeping Night Oil twice a week for the last 2 weeks now and the morning after using it, I can see an obvious difference in my pores and my skin feels softer and appears less dehydrated in terms of my serum and moisturisers and the time they take to sink in. I had used it a couple of times before that too. I haven't been using Luna regularly enough yet for me to give you any concrete results, but I am loving the results so far and am very impressed that the results were so obvious after the first use and I think I can say that I am going to love this, it is very expensive but the amount I use I would imagine the 15ml bottle I have will last me a long time especially as I only use it twice a week.

Overall I think the Luna is a great product and it is performing well so far, I am very impressed that the results were so obvious after just one use and I have high hopes for my skin after using it twice a week for 4 weeks, I will of course up date you on how I am getting on after a few weeks. I would say that if you have been wanting to try Luna but worried about the price tag, try the smaller bottle as it will last a long time only using 2-3 drops twice a week, but so far I am really liking it which is typical with the price of it, but I am impressed with the difference so far, I can only imagine the difference after a few more weeks will be great.

If you would like to try the Sunday Riley Luna Sleeping Night Oil, it is available in 2 sizes, 15ml and 30ml and is priced at £45 for the 15ml and £85 for the 30ml and is available to purchase from the Cult Beauty website

Have you tried Sunday Riley Luna Sleeping Night Oil? Or is it on your wishlist? And have you tried any other Sunday Riley products you can recommend or that I should avoid?  Let me know in the comments below.

Superfacialist Neroli Skincare Range

Superfacialist Neroli Skincare Range

I recently received some skincare products from the brand Superfacialist,  I love trying out new skincare products, I use a daily skincare regime as my skin is terribly dry and dehydrated and I stick to the same, cleanse, acid tone, serum, moisturiser as my basic routine and add in other things like oils, overnight treatments and other products when and where necessary as I find this works for me. Being a blogger I am lucky to be able to try new brands and skincare products and I can do it without deviating away from my routine too much, so when the Superfacialist products arrived, I was able to include them in my skincare routine nicely.

I received some products from the Neroli range and those products are -

* The Daily Brightening Cleanser Was £7.99 now £6.80

* The Intense Facial SerumWas £16.99 now £14.44

* The Superlift SPF Day Cream - Was £16.99 Now £14.44

* The Superlift Night Cream Was £16.99 now £14.44

About Superfacialist

Super Facialist is a comprehensive skincare range suitable for everyone – combining natural extracts, high-performance scientific ingredients and exquisite aromas to deliver the best results for healthy, beautiful and youthful looking skin.
Passionate about skincare, we wanted to carry a simple message that you can easily ‘be your own super Facialist’; taking time to love and understand your skin.

Superfacialist Daily Brightening Cleanser - £6.80

Superfacialist Neroli Skincare Range

Superfacialist Neroli Skincare Range

The brightening cleanser is a lovely cleanser for morning and evening, it is formulated with Mango Seed Oil and Hibiscus Extract to deliver optimum cleansing benefits and Hyaluronic Acid known for its hydrating benefits. I use it morning and evening, sometimes either, applying it all over my face and removing with a face cloth that has been run under hand hot water and wrung out. It leaves me skin feeling soft and clean and I find it is good for removing makeup also, however if I am wearing makeup I always use the double cleanse method with any cleanser and do with this one too, but it does remove all my makeup including waterproof mascara.

Superfacialist Intense Facial Serum - £14.44

Superfacialist Neroli Skincare Range

I love using serums, I find they make all the difference to my skin and this one contains an apple derived stem cell ingredient proven to protect longevity of skin stem cells with a collagen stimulating peptide to help firm the skin. Like the cleanser it also contains Hyaluronic Acid and Hibiscus Extract to restore the complexions natural radiance and healthiness.

I apply the serum morning and evening after cleansing and acid toning but before moisturiser, it has the same lovely scent as all the products in the range and sinks into my skin nicely, leaving it feeling soft, smooth and plumped up, the serum really makes a difference to my skin and is brilliant for hydration, which having very dry and dehydrated skin, is brilliant for me.

Superfacialist Superlift Day Cream SPF 15 - £14.44

The anti ageing day cream has an SPF of 15, you should still wear a separate SPF too though to fully protect your skin. It also contains Shea Butter, Hyaluronic Acid and a plumping tetrapeptide combined with the same rejuvenating apple derived stem cell as the serum to help reduce the appearance of fine lines whilst helping to rebuild collagen.

The day cream has a nice texture it isn't too thick or too thin, it applies well to my skin and rubs and sinks in really well, leaving my skin feeling smooth and looking lovely. My makeup applies really well over the top of the day cream and doesn't cling to any dryness I may have.

Superfacialist Super Lift Night Cream - £14.44

Superfacialist Neroli Skincare Range

The night cream has a lovely luxurious texture, and is very different to anything I have used before. The night cream goes to work while you sleep to optimise cellular renewal and help radiance and skin youthfulness. Once again, like the serum and the day cream it contains Hyaluronic Acid and the stem cell ingredient which helps to tone, re textures and plump the skin from the inside out.

The night cream massages into my skin well and feels lovely, the texture is almost like a solid oil but not quite, that massages into the skin and transforms to a night cream. It sinks into my skin nicely and leaves it feeling soft and smooth and in the morning it looks lovely and radiant even when I've cleansed.

Overall Thoughts

Superfacialist Neroli Skincare Range

I have really enjoyed using the Superfacialist Neroli skincare range, the products all smell amazing and work really well with my skin, they all did what they claim and my skin is left feeling clean, hydrated, soft and smooth when using them all together as part of my morning and evening skin care routine.

I can't comment on the anti ageing benefits as I haven't noticed any difference in that area, but I am quite lucky and although I am definitely on the wrong side of 40, I don't really have wrinkles and just a few fine lines under my eyes which I like to think are down to my dehydrated skin and not my age, who am I kidding right? My skin does look plump and radiant though and my makeup applies really well over the top, the cleanser removes all my makeup including waterproof mascara. All the products in the range are really nice and perform really well and leave my skin looking and feeling really nice.

I think the Neroli range from Superfacialist is a lovely range, however there are other ranges available if you feel the Neroli range isn't suitable for you, and dependant on the range, there are different products within the ranges, the Superfacialist ranges available are -

* Neroli
* Retinol+
* Rose
* Salicylic Acid
* Vitamin C
* Hyaluronic Acid
* Pure

If you would like to try the Neroli range or any of the ranges available, you can find them on the Superfacialist website

Brushworks Complexion And Makeup Kit

Brushworks Complexion And Makeup Kit

I love trying new makeup brushes out and especially when it's a brand I really like. I have tried quite a few different makeup brushes and sponges from the brand Brushworks, and I have yet to try a product of theirs that I dislike. So when I received the Complexion & Makeup Kit to try, I was really pleased and excited to try it out.

The Brushworks Complexion & Makeup Kit contains 2 brushes and a makeup sponge, the brushes are the Angled Contour and Powder Kabuki brushes. All the tools are suitable for use with powder and liquid products, cruelty free and vegan friendly and the sponge is high quality and latex free.

Brushworks Complexion And Makeup Kit

Powder Kabuki Brush

Brushworks Complexion And Makeup Kit

The powder kabuki brush has a densely packed brush head but still has plenty of movement so is perfect for applying foundation or powder. I prefer to use it with foundation and find it gives a nice finish and my foundation looks lovely, but it is also great for applying powder using circular motions and doesn't cake the powder on which for me, having dry skin is important.  The brush doesn't use too much product and washes and dries well, and it's pink, so it's a win win for me.

Angled Contour Kabuki Brush

Brushworks Complexion And Makeup Kit

The angled kabuki brush is also densely packed but like the powder kabuki, it does have plenty of movement. It is ideal for applying blusher and bronzer to the face but can be used for foundation too. I prefer to use it for blusher and bronzer and find it works equally well with both cream and powder products, it blends the product into the skin beautifully, giving a flawless finish. Like the powder kabuki the angled kabuki brush washes and dries well and has kept it's shape, and again, it's pink.

Complexion Sponge

Brushworks Complexion And Makeup Kit

The egg shaped ergonomic complexion sponge is a great sponge, I use it damp to apply my foundation and also use it to apply my powder sometimes too, depending on the coverage I want but 9 times out of 10 I use it solely for applying my foundation. The sponge is great and doesn't soak up my foundation as much as the brushes meaning I use less, but to be fair the brushes don't soak up too much.

I use the rounded end to apply my foundation all over my face and the pointed end to apply my foundation around my nose and eye area. The pointed end of the sponge is also great for applying my corrector and concealer under my eyes and for applying contour, I then use the rounded end for buffing the contour into my skin.  I love the finish I get with my foundation when using the sponge, I am left with a seamless finish, and it is brilliant for applying cream contour or highlight products too, it's a brilliant sponge and just as good as more expensive makeup sponges I own.

Overall Thoughts

Brushworks Complexion And Makeup Kit

The Brushworks Complexion & Makeup Kit is great little kit and perfect for applying several different products so it brilliant when applying my makeup, I have all the tools I need to apply my base, it would also be a great kit for travelling as the brushes have short handles so don't take much room in my brush bag. All three tools wash and dry well and all have kept their shape despite being washed and dried numerous times.

I have yet to find a Brushworks makeup brush or sponge that I don't like, they are brilliant products and at affordable price, if you would like to try the Brushworks Complexion & Makeup Kit you can find it on the allbeauty website priced at £8.75 which I think is a good price for 2 face brushes and a sponge of such good quality.

Have you tried this kit? Or have you tried Brushworks makeup brushes and sponges? What are your thoughts if you have? Let me know in the comments below.

GOSH Mix And Fix Colour Drops

GOSH Mix And Fix Colour Drops

I always get excited when a brand I love launches a new product and when the postman dropped the new GOSH Mix & Fix Colour Drops £9.99 through my door, I was very excited to try them. I have been using them for the last couple of weeks now and it's time I shared them with you.

The GOSH Mix & Fix Colour Drops is a range of 5 different colour correcting shades, the colours can help you correct any liquid makeup or moisturiser to your desired shade and skin care beneficial antioxidants such as Cherry Blossom which is a symbol of spring and new beginnings and is rich in antioxidant levels and soothing properties and oil derived from the Samphire plant (Hydrasalinol - oil) which significantly increases the skins hydration level, helping the skin to maintain it's water balance and prevents further dehydration.

GOSH Mix And Fix Colour Drops

There are 5 shades available, I have 4 of the 5 as the 5th isn't suitable for my skin tone. The shades and how to use them are :

001 Light - Lightens the colour of foundation and concealer. Add a few drops and mix to your desired shade.

GOSH Mix And Fix Colour Drops

002 Green - Neutralises redness. Dab a small amount on red skin irritations like birthmarks, acne scars or skin sensitivities, and for a mild overall redness in skin tone, add a few drops to your primer and apply under foundation.

GOSH Mix And Fix Colour Drops

003 Purple - Neutralises yellow and dull skin. Corrects dark and yellow spots and hyper pigmentation. Balance a mild yellow skin tone by adding a few drops to your primer and apply under foundation.

GOSH Mix And Fix Colour Drops

004 Dark - Darkens the colour of foundation and concealer. Add a few drops and mix to your desired shade.

GOSH Mix And Fix Colour Drops

005 Masala - Neutralises ashiness in darker skin tones.

My Thoughts

The 001 Light and 004 Dark are fantastic for lightening and darkening foundation and concealer, I'm sure we've all had the experience of being matched completely wrong for a foundation or we've bought the wrong shade, it is so annoying but now I don't need to worry. Both of these shades are also great for people who wear fake tan, my youngest wears tan on occasion and she is seriously impressed that she can now adapt her foundation and concealer depending on if she is wearing tan and how deep a tan it is. I have very dry skin and worried that the drops might change the foundation and concealer somehow but they don't, they do exactly what they claim to do and simply lighten or darken my foundation and concealer.

002 Green is brilliant for me, I do have a lot of redness, I can be a complete Ribena Berry face and on the days when I'm less red, my cheeks are always red and I always have "rosy cheeks" as my mum says. I have also been suffering with Auto Immune Urticaria since April which had been suppressed with medication but is unfortunately back (hoorah) so sometimes I have varying sized red blotches all over my face too. 002 Green has been great to pop on the blotches to hide them and on days when I am red, full of urticaria or have my rosy cheeks, I have been mixing a couple of drops with my primer and applying under my foundation and it makes such a difference, it's amazing!

003 Purple is the shade I use least, but only because I don't have much call for it but one thing I did try and was amazed at was, I had a foundation which is a little too yellow toned for me so I can't wear it but I do like the finish of it, so I mixed some of 003 Purple with my primer and applied it and then applied the foundation and it looked a lot less yellow toned which I was thrilled at. I did wonder if I could mix a little with the yellow toned foundation to make it less yellow but I have yet to try that, I shall let you know if it works.

Overall Thoughts

GOSH Mix And Fix Colour Drops

I think it is clear that I am seriously impressed with the GOSH Mix & Fix Colour Drops, they really are brilliant and I cannot recommend them enough. I think that having 001 Light and 004 Dark in your collection is really handy, especially for the summer or if you are going on holiday and wear foundation and concealer or if you wear false tan regularly. You only need a small amount, obviously this would depend just how dark or light the foundation/concealer were to begin with, but I have only used a small amount of each shade and know that they are going to last me a long time.

My eldest daughter is a makeup artist and is so impressed with the drops, she is going to add all 5 shades to her professional kit, so if you are a makeup artist these are great to have in your kit too.

And the best thing is, at the moment the GOSH Mix & Fix Colour Drops are on a buy one get one half price offer on the Superdrug website and if you buy any of the shades, you get a free mixing palette so it's a great time to try them if you want to, they are priced at £9.99 each.

Have you tried the GOSH Mix & Fix Colour Drops? Or do you think you will add any of the shades to your collection? Do you use colour correctors? Let me know in the comments below.

A Winter Wonderland With Essence

A Winter Wonderland With Essence

Essence are absolutely killing it right now and their products have fast become some of my favourite high street products, they are super affordable and incredible quality. I recently received some winter wonderland themed products and couldn't wait to share them with you.

Nails

If you're a long time reader of my blog, you'll know how much of a nail geek I am, I love anything to do with nails and these products are fabulous.

Essence Rock In A Bottle Loose Glitter - £2.00

Essence Loose Glitter

Essence Loose Glitter

The Rock In A Bottle in the shade Rock is a loose glitter that you apply over nail polish, either covering the whole nail or in an area you wish to use it, once applied you tap it down with your finger, let the nail polish dry and then use a top coat to seal. Any left over glitter can be popped back in the bottle for the next time you use it, it gives such an amazing finish to the nails and looks amazing, I like to use it as an accent nail or add a little to the tips or bottom of the nails, either way it looks lovely and I receive lots of compliments.

Essence Loose Glitter

Metal Shock Nail Powder

Essence Metal Shock Nail Powder

Essence Metal Shock Nail Powder

I have the shade Mirror Mirror On The Nail in the Metal Shock Nail Powder, it is a gold/silver shade and looks amazing! It is so easy to use too, you simply apply a clear nail polish or top coat, then I find it easiest to use one of those sponge applicators that come with some eyeshadow palettes, I save them for creating ombre nails but they work brilliantly for nail powders too. Using the sponge, dip it in the powder and rub on the nail until smooth, then apply a top coat, you can apply over any nail polish too. You are left with a stunning mirrored effect that looks amazing.

Essence Metal Shock Nail Powder

Eyes

Essence Metal Art Lip & Eye Liner - £3.00

Essence Eye & Lip Liner

Essence Eye & Lip Liner

The Metal Art Lip & Eye Liner in the shade Steel The Show is a stunning metallic charcoal grey with sparkle and can be used on the eyes and lips, it is a lovely product that is easy to use. It comes with a thin applicator and is easy to line and fill in the lips or create a killer feline flick on the eyes and looks amazing.

Essence Eye & Lip Liner

Essence Metal Shock Eyeshadow - £3.50

Essence Metal Shock Eyeshadow

I love the Metal Shock eyeshadows, this is the shade Moon Dust and is a lovely vibrant silver shade, it is metallic but has some tiny sparkly particles too and looks so pretty on the eye. The Metal Shock eyeshadows are easy to apply and can be applied straight from the applicator wand or you can use a brush, or apply with the wand and then blend out the edges with a brush which is what I find best.  I really like the formula of these and have another shade stars and stories which is a rose gold shade, they last really well and I don't find they crease, I do always use an eye primer before applying my make up though so can't comment on how they wear without one.

Essence Metal Shock Eyeshadow

Essence Moonlight Cream Eyeshadow - £3.00

Essence Cream Eyeshadow

Essence Cream Eyeshadow

The Moonlight cream eyeshadow in the shade Angel is such a pretty eyeshadow. I already have this shade in my collection so I have passed this on to a family member because it is so lovely and looks stunning on the eye. It is lovely as an inner corner highlight or all over the lid or to add some iridescence in the centre of the lid, it is very pretty and has a pinky tone to it in some lights.

Essence Cream Eyeshadow

As always, Essence have really pulled it out of the bag with these Winter Wonderland themed products and the best thing is,  they are all priced under £4.00. And not only are they all under £4.00, they all perform just as well as products in my collection with a much higher price tag. Essence really are an amazing brand, their products are outstanding and very affordable and if you haven't tried them yet, I can't recommend that you do, enough, you won't be disappointed.

If you would like to try Essence, their products are sold on the Wilko website and in Wilko stores too.

Have you tried any of these products? What's your favourite of the products I shared today? And whats your favourite Essence product?
