DHC Sube Sube Travel Set

DHC Sube Sube Travel Set

DHC are a Japanese beauty brand that is talked about a lot in the beauty blogging world. I first tried their products last year and since then I have been very lucky to be able to try a few more of their products and I have really liked the things I have tried so far, especially their Astaxanthin Collagen All In One Gel

When the DHC Sube Sube Travel Set arrived through my door, I was super excited and couldn't wait to try the products inside, especially the Deep Cleansing Oil as I have heard so many
great things about it.

In Japanese, sube sube means 'smooth and silky', and with this all-in-one, travel-friendly set that's the exact look and feel you can treat your skin to. This selection of self-love essentials brings together some of the finest cleansing products by DHC, Japan's leading skincare brand. This fragrance-free set makes for a perfect step into the wonderful range of products by DHC.

Whats In The Set?

  • 1x Deep Cleansing Oil (30ml)
  • 1x Mild Soap (10g)
  • 1x Mild Lotion (30ml)
  • 1x Olive Virgin Oil (5ml)

The set contains everything needed for a skincare routine should you be travelling, I would usually add other items into my daily skincare routine but when I go away I do condense my skincare and don't use as many products, so the travel set was perfect and the perfect size too. We visited friends for the weekend in August and I took the set with me to use as my skincare and then I continued to use it when I got home so I could try the products out for a longer time period.

DHC Deep Cleansing Oil (30ml) - £4.50

Dissolves make-up thoroughly with zero residue. Nutritive oil formula emulsifies into a cleansing milk for truly make-up free skin. Olive and rosemary leaf oils leave skin feeling soothed, refreshed, and balanced.

DHC Deep Cleansing Oil

I have to start by saying that the DHC Deep Cleansing Oil is just as good as everyone says it is, it is amazing!! I use the cleansing oil to remove my makeup, I apply a small amount of the oil and rub it into my skin and across my eyes to remove eye makeup, then I take a face cloth (flannel) which I have run under hand hot water and wrung out and I wipe away the oil, all my makeup comes away so easily, even waterproof mascara, it is incredible and leaves my skin feeling clean, silky soft and smooth.

DHC Mild Soap (10g) - £2.00

Gently cleanses away impurities without stripping skin. Hydrates and protects skin’s natural moisture with olive oil and honey.

DHC Mild Soap

I will admit, I was a little worried about using the mild soap, my skin is extremely dry and dehydrated and soap usually dries my skin out even more. I used the mild soap in a morning or evening when I wasn't wearing makeup as my cleansing step of my skincare routine.

I took the soap from the packaging and ran it under hand hot water, then created a lather in my palms and applied to my face and neck, using a face cloth in the same way as with the cleansing oil to remove it. My face didn't feel tight or dry afterwards and was in fact left feeling lovely and clean and very soft and smooth, I was very pleasantly surprised at how lovely my skin felt and the soap is an excellent cleanser too, it is a lovely product and something I wouldn't have ever picked up but am so glad I have tried.

DHC Mild Lotion (30ml) - £4.95

Refreshes and calms with cucumber juice extract. Humectant-rich glycerin protects skin’s natural barrier, and prepares skin for more intensive moisture care.

DHC Mild Lotion

The DHC Mild Lotion is an alcohol free toner which I used either after the cleansing oil or the mild soap, as I do with all toners, I applied it to a cotton pad and swept across my face morning and evening, you can if you prefer, apply the toner to the palms of your hands and then directly to your face. The toner leaves my skin feeling refreshed and hydrated and ready for the next step in my skin care routing and is a really lovely product.

DHC Olive Virgin Oil (5ml)  - £4.95

Gives skin a healthy glow with the oil of handpicked, organic olives. Lightweight facial oil absorbs easily and supports skin’s natural moisture barrier without irritating or clogging pores.

DHC Olive Virgin Oil

I used the oil as the last step in my skincare routine and applied a small amount to my hands to warm the oil up and then pressed onto my face as directed, the oil is absolutely lovely and my skin felt so lovely after using it, it was hydrated, soft and smooth with no dry patches at all. The oil can also be used on the cuticles or any other dry areas of the body such as knees or elbows, so it's a great product to travel with. I have such dry skin that I worried the oil wouldn't be enough to use alone without any serums or moisturiser, but it was absolutely fine and my skin looked and felt wonderful after using it.

Overall Thoughts

DHC Sube Sube Travel Set

I love the DHC Sube Sube Travel Set - £13.50 and highly recommend it to anyone, whether you are going travelling or if you want to try some DHC products, it's a great little set and perfect for trying out the products or if you're going away. The products were the perfect size, I didn't think they would last as long as they did to be honest, especially the olive virgin oil as it is only a small bottle, but the amount needed is so little that it does last well and is enough for a holiday or long enough to try out and see if the products work for you.

All the products worked really well for my skin and all are suitable for all skin types so are ideal for anyone to try, my favourite product from the set is probably the cleansing oil, I am not surprised it is DHC's best selling cleansing product, it is by far the best cleansing oil I have ever used. My eldest daughter also tried it, she is a makeup artist and wears a full face of makeup, more than I do and it removed all her makeup with ease and she was extremely impressed with it, so impressed that the day she tried it, she ordered some!

All the products are really lovely, they all feel nice to use, are gentle on the skin and leave my skin feeling and looking lovely. I have eczema and sensitive skin but I didn't have any problems at all with any of the products.

I loved using the set and will definitely pick another one up for when I'm going to be doing any travelling, and I will definitely be picking up full sizes of all the products too. I was so pleasantly surprised at how nice the mild soap was on my skin and it didn't leave my skin feeling tight or dry at all like a facial soap usually would and the toner and the olive oil are both beautiful products, I can see why DHC is such a sought after brand, so far, I have yet to try a product that I haven't liked and can highly recommend everything I have tried.

If you would like to try the Sube Sube Travel Set, you can find it here, priced at £13.50 or if you would like to try any of the products individually, you can find the Cleansing Oil here, priced at £4.50, the Mild Soap here, priced at £2.00, the Mild Lotion here, priced at £4.95 and the Olive Virgin Oil here, priced at £4.95

Have you tried the DHC Sube Sube Travel Set? Or any DHC products? And if so which is your favourite DHC product?

Billion Dollar Smile Teeth Whitening Strips

Billion Dollar Smile Teeth Whitening Strips

I dislike my teeth, a lot. As a baby/toddler I sucked my thumb and as a result, ended up with extremely, what can only be described as "goofy" teeth and because of this I had a brace for 3 years as a teenager, the fixed kind, top and bottom, this did the job and my teeth were so much better and lovely and straight. Unfortunately in recent years my teeth have suffered as a result of taking a certain medication for a serious medical condition and the enamel on my teeth is now damaged which causes me to be conscious of my teeth.

Because of this, teeth whitening products are always a welcome product for me and I always use whitening toothpastes. When I received the Billion Dollar Smile Teeth Whitening Strips  I was really looking forward to trying them, but then my daughter saw them and also wanted to try them, since she has no enamel damage we decided she would be the best person to try the strips just incase I didn't get much of a result, as it wouldn't be a true reflection of the strips.

Billion Dollar Smile Teeth Whitening Strips

Billion Dollar Smile Strips are coated with an innovative non peroxide whitening gel to make home whitening easy, effective and mess free. Clinically proven to improve the whiteness of teeth by up to 6 shades after 14 days.

The Billion Dollar Smile Teeth Whitening Strips come in a box of 28 strips, 14 for the upper teeth and 14 for the lower teeth, they are designed to make them the ideal format for whitening your teeth safely and effectively at home. The strips are ultra thin, peroxide free, mint flavoured strips that start to whiten the teeth on contact, dissolving stains to reveal a whiter and brighter smile. To apply the strips you place them on your upper and lower teeth for 15 to 30 minutes daily for 14 days.

Billion Dollar Smile Teeth Whitening Strips

The strips come in single sachet/packets containing 2 strips in each packet, 1 for the upper teeth and 1 for the lower teeth. There are directions on the back of the packet. There are also directions on the back of the box.

On the edge of the box there is a shade chart so you can see how many shades your teeth have whitened using the strips, it is handy to use it before using the strips and then after the two weeks.

Alicia's Thoughts

Alicia said she found the strips a little tricky to apply the first time she used them because they "slid around" her teeth, but after the first time, she found them easier to apply. After brushing her teeth with water only, Alicia applied the strips to her teeth and left them for 20 minutes, she decided as it said 15 to 30 minutes she would go down the middle and leave them for 20. After removing the strips she swilled her mouth to remove any residue from the strips, after the first time of using the strips, Alicia said she did notice a slight change and her teeth looked better.

Alicia used the strips for 14 days consecutively as instructed on the box, after using the strips for 14 days she was really pleased with the results and her teeth were definitely whiter, I was rather envious and wish I'd tried them now!

The strips are really good, once you get the hand of applying them, they are easy to use, and they whitened the teeth really well too, definitely worth trying if you want whiter teeth and don't want to pay a heavy price tag.

If you would like to try the Billion Dollar Smile Teeth Whitening Strips, you can find them on the Superdrug website, here, priced £22.49.

Charlotte Tilbury Stars In Your Eyes Palette - Review And Swatches

Charlotte Tilbury Stars In Your Eyes Palette

Any new launch from Charlotte Tilbury is always highly anticipated and there is always a lot of hype surrounding the product.

The BRAND NEW Limited Edition Stars In Your Eyes eyeshadow palette is no exception to this rule. As soon as there were sneak peeks of the palette on social media lots of people were very excited including myself.  I have been using the palette for a couple of weeks now and wanted to share my thoughts with you and of course some swatches of all the shades.

If like me the packaging of a product draws you in, then you will love the packaging. The palette is housed in the signature Charlotte Tilbury deep burgundy coloured box with rose gold writing and the box is glittery, now anything glittery draws me in immediately, I love me some sparkle! Then inside,  the palette (which is plastic) is the same burgundy colour and is also sparkly, so much sparkle!!

Charlotte Tilbury Stars In Your Eyes Palette

Charlotte Tilbury Stars In Your Eyes Palette

Stars In Your Eyes palette is the new, LIMITED EDITION eyeshadow palette with 4 magical, mood-enhancing eye looks to inspire Love, Power, Happiness and Confidence. With INCREDIBLE colour pay-off, MOLTEN textures and MESMERISING looks for day and night, each of the shades can be dialled up or lightly layered. Carefully curated by Charlotte to put the ‘lights-in-your-eyes’

The packaging doesn't feel flimsy and isn't hard to open, inside the shadows are housed in a rose gold mirrored casing and split into 4 categories, Love Eyes, Happy Eyes, Power Eyes and Confident Eyes, each category contains 3 shadows and each is labelled underneath the shadows. There is a clear plastic covering over the shadows stating which shade is either 1 - Prime, 2 - Enhance or 3 - Smoke which is Charlottes format for how to use the shadows.

Each shadow is 0.7g

Charlotte Tilbury Stars In Your Eyes Palette

The Love Look: 3 rose quartz-inspired shades, with sweet, soft pink hues to reflect the stone of unconditional love. This look is perfect for date night and weddings.
The Happy Look: 3 sun-lit amber shades inspired by one of the world’s most coveted treasures. Apply these energising hues on holiday and nights out for gorgeous happy eyes.

Charlotte Tilbury Stars In Your Eyes Palette

Charlotte Tilbury Stars In Your Eyes Palette

All the shades are beautiful, gorgeous warm toned bronze, rust and plum toned shades and are definitely my kind of shades, to be honest when I first saw the shades in the palette I didn't think I would like the Confident Eyes shadows or the Power Eyes shadows but once I had swatched them I could see that they are all lovely shadows and ones I knew I was going to love once I had tried them, and I was right, as soon as I used the shadows, I was even more in love.

When I swatched the shadows I was really pleased how they swatched, all bar a couple of them swatched really well with great colour pay off and the two that aren't as great, aren't bad at all, they're just the palest shade which will always be that way when swatching and one is a high shimmer/glittery shade and again will always be the case when swatching but both are brilliant applied to the eye which is what really matters.

My favourite shades are the Love Eyes and the Happy Eyes shades but there isn't a shade I wouldn't and haven't used in the palette which is high praise from me as usually with a 12 shade palette there would be at least a couple of shades I won't like or use. There is a good mix of matte, satin and shimmer shades and all apply and blend beautifully, the colour pay off is fabulous and I haven't experienced any fallout.

The shadows have a fantastic wear time without fading, the longest time I have worn the shadows for is over 12 hours and my eye makeup looked just as good as when I applied it, no fading or creasing.

There are so many looks to create with this palette aside from the 4 suggested looks, all the shades compliment each other beautifully and there are many looks to be created with all the shades in the palette.

Aren't the shades stunning? Now I'm sure you can see the two shades I mentioned that didn't swatch as well as the others, the lightest shade in the Love Eyes and the middle shade in the Power Eyes, on the eye they are both absolutely fine so please don't let that put you off.

Overall Thoughts

I adore this palette, all the shades are stunning, they apply and blend beautifully, the colour payoff is fabulous and they last all day without fading, I honestly can't find anything negative to say about the palette other than it being limited edition it may be difficult to get hold of, but that really is the only negative I can find, it really is a beautiful and extremely wearable palette.

I would say if you do have this palette on your wish list, I would get it as soon as possible as I have no doubt it will sell out very quickly, it is available now on the Charlotte Tilbury Website priced at £60.00 and will be available on Charlotte Tilbury counters on October 11th 2018.

The packaging is stunning, the shadows are stunning, it is simply beautiful.

Have you picked up the Stars In Your Eyes palette? Or is it on your wish list? And which shadow or shadows are your favourites from my swatches?

Trying Time Bomb Skincare Products

Trying Time Bomb Skincare Products

I love trying skincare products and especially products from brands I haven't yet tried, I do tend to play it safe sometimes with my skincare because my skin is so dry and I struggle to find products I love but I do also like to try new things, so it can be a double edged sword. Over the years I have become a bit of a skincare geek, especially after my skin becoming extremely dry and me researching and trying lots of products, so when I received some of the Time Bomb skincare products, I was very much looking forward to trying them and seeing how they worked for my skin.

Time Bomb is a game-changer...and a clock-stopper.... in the skin care category.
Not ingredient-led, but rather consumer driven, this collection includes category-shattering formulas that make a difference quickly. Ground-breaking products like Complexion Cocktails (the first skin tonics with super-potent, skin-boosting shots) and Collagen Bomb (the first skin fuel that re-energizes and re-activates essential collagen) are radically fresh, innovative solutions to keeping skin functioning optimally.....firing on all cylinders.....so it can look fresh, firm, smooth and radiant at any age

Trying Time Bomb Skincare Products

Time Bomb Youth Juice Secret Oil - £42 (60ml)

Time Bomb Youth Juice Secret Oil

- Mimics skin’s natural sebum to replace oils no longer produced by ageing skin
- Absorbs instantly for non-greasy feel
- Plumps, protects and helps seal in natural moisture

Having extremely dry skin, I was really looking forward to trying the Time Bomb Youth Juice Secret Oil, I like to use oils in my skincare routine, in the summer months as something I use last in my routine and leave to sink in overnight, and in winter, I use oils before my moisturiser and after my serum as my skin is extremely dry so I need the extra hydration during the day also.

Time Bomb Youth Juice Secret Oil

The secret oil contains a combination of oils including olive, kukui, avocado, sweet almond, sesame seed, lavender, coconut and jojoba oils that mimic the skins natural sebum as it can be lost with age. With a natural lipid compels, the ultra fine, non greasy blend not only quenches thirsty, ageing skin, but also creates a moisture barrier that helps to reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles. The oil is rich in vitamins E and C, which helps to plump the skin and create an all over youthful glow.

I really like the packaging of the secret oil, the lid screws off to reveal a red plastic stopper to stop the oil spilling out. I tried the oil out over the summer months so have used it most as the last step in my skincare routine at night, but have tried it several times after serum and before moisturiser.

Time Bomb Youth Juice Secret Oil

My skin feels lovely when I use the secret oil, it is so soft and plump and feels hydrated and smooth, if using the oil in a morning, my moisturiser applies well over the top and the oil doesn't take an age to sink in before I can apply my moisturiser, I only need to use a small amount and apply to my face and neck. When using the oil at night, I usually pop a little more on and leave it to sink in, my skin feels lovely in the morning and even after cleansing my skin still feels lovely and smooth.

I have been really impressed with the secret oil, I can't say I have seen a dramatic difference in any lines I have but my skin looks soft, smooth and plump and feels absolutely lovely.

Time Bomb Complexion Cocktail With A Shot Of H2Omega -£24.50 (100ml)

Time Bomb Complexion Cocktail H2Omega

- Counters the effects of temporary, serious dehydration

- Reloads critical moisture and essential fatty acids
- Restores smooth, supple texture to skin that looks sucked dry,
crinkled

The Time Bomb Complexion Cocktail with a shot of  H2Omega is a highly concentrated, proprietary Hyaluronic Acid Complex which acts as a moisture "magnet" attracting and retaining optimal moisture. It contains Chia Oil, natures richest source of Omega 3 EFA's and Electrolyte - Rich Coconut Oil, known for it's exceptional hydrating powers and is another source of Omega 3's.

When I first saw the complexion cocktail, I was intrigued and couldn't wait to try it, to apply the cocktail you can either apply directly to the skin or apply to a cotton pad and then sweep all over the face and neck and can be used morning and evening.  I have applied the complexion cocktail both with a cotton pad and directly onto my skin and I don't have a favourite way of using it,  but feel I don't waste as much product if I put a few drops into the palm of my hand and then apply it to my face and neck.

The bottle and a stopper in the lid with a hole in it (like a vinegar bottle has), so it doesn't pour out too much, it smells absolutely gorgeous and reminds me of holidays and pina coladas, it is lovely. It isn't as thin in consistency as water but also not as thick as a serum, it is somewhere in between, it isn't sticky and doesn't leave any tackiness to the skin, it sinks in well, leaving my skin ready for either serum or moisturiser.

I apply the complexion cocktail to my skin after cleansing and using my acid toner, and depending on how dry my skin is either before or in place of my serum and before my moisturiser. In the summer months I used it in place of my serum but now I use it before my serum. Since using the complexion cocktail my skin is much more soft and supple and hydrated, I suffer with very dry and dehydrated skin and the complexion cocktail has made such a difference in how my skin looks and feels and I am so pleased to have had to opportunity to try it as it really is a fabulous product, I was pleasantly surprised at how long the 100ml bottle I have lasts too, it also comes in a 30ml £10.00 and 150ml £30.00 size too, I will 100% pick up the 150ml size when mine runs low.

Time Bomb Complexion Cocktails To Go - £30 ( 3 x 30ml)

Time Bomb Complexion Cocktails To Go

When the effects of fatigue, dehydration or pollutants wreck your complexion, reach for a cocktail! Each of these modern, skin-boosting tonics has a potent, concentrated shot to counteract your skin concern "du jour"

I think it's obvious I adore the Complexion Cocktail with H2Omega, so this set of three complexion cocktails got me very excited indeed. It contains the Complexion Cocktail with a shot of H2Omega, Complexion Cocktail with a shot of B12 and Complexion Cocktail with a shot of Chlorophyll, each bottle is 30ml making this an ideal set to travel with, or to try out all three which I have been doing, I already knew I loved the H2Omega and couldn't wait to try the other two cocktails too.

Complexion Cocktail With A Shot Of B12

Time Bomb Complexion Cocktails To Go B12

- Counters the effects of fatigue that can show on your face as dull lifeless skin,
 drained of color
- Re-boots skin’s natural energy production
- Restores the look of a plump, healthy complexion

The Complexion Cocktail with a shot of B12 is formulated with high levels of B12 and B3 plus Brown Algae, it jolts the skins own energy production into high gear. Formulated with Centella and Ginseng this potent concentrate improves micro-circulation for better skin tone and enlivened colour. A powerful blend of 12 Amino Acids and two types of Hyaluronic Acid replenishes skins surface layers and helps retain moisture for immediate visible plumping.

This complexion cocktail is brilliant for my dull tired skin and also my dry and dehydrated skin, I have a lot of health problems and also don't get much if any sleep most nights, this is brilliant for perking up my tired, dull skin and also gives me the hydration I need. I apply it in the same way as the H2Omega cocktail and my skin is left looking bright and smooth and feeling lovely.

Complexion Cocktail With A Shot Of Chlorphyll

Time Bomb Complexion Cocktails To Go Chlorphyll

 - Counters the effects of toxins on the skin, whether from external sources (like pollutants,

sun, smoke) or internal sources (like psychological pressures) that can show on your face
as breakout’s, clogged pores, dry patches
- Leaves skin soothed, calmed, dewy-fresh…. clearer, smoother and healthier

The Complexion Cocktail with a shot of Chlorophyll is a detoxifying powerhouse, and gives the skin an instant reprieve from the onslaught of free radicals inside and out. Formulated to reduce the effects of toxins that contribute to premature ageing, this concentrated cocktail blends multiple, potent anti-oxidants known to target and neutralise different types of free radicals. Chlorophyll is a known scavenger of toxins and can help counter the effects of sun damage. Red Clover, a natural source of bio-anti-oxidants, helps to counteract the effects of environmental pollutants. A wheat based botanical extract, rich in peptides with anti-oxidant properties, targets internally generated free radicals.

This complexion cocktail has a lovely fresh scent to it, applied in exactly the same way as the H2Omega shot cocktail, it leaves my skin feeling lovely and fresh after using it.  I have very dry and dehydrated skin but I like to use this complexion cocktail if I have breakouts, I don't suffer too badly as my skin is so dry but when I do, this is what I reach for to add into my skincare routine.

My daughter graduated in July and during the run up to her graduation she had quite a few breakouts, she always comes to me for skincare advice and I gave her some products to use, this being one of them and her breakouts cleared up and her skin looked amazing on graduation day.

Overall Thoughts

I am so impressed with all the products I have tried from Time Bomb, I think my favourite would have to be the Time Bomb Complexion Cocktail with a shot of H2Omega, it is a lovely product and has made such a difference to my skin, it looks so much better and feels smoother and softer, having extremely dry and dehydrated skin is the bane of my life and this is such a great product and one I love to use and will 100% be purchasing once the ones I have, have run down.

I also love the Secret Oil, it doesn't leave my skin feeling greasy or tacky and my moisturiser applies beautifully over it it, the amount I need is so small and a little goes a long way, meaning the bottle will last me a good amount of time. All the Complexion Cocktails are brilliant and it's great to have the set of three as I can use each one depending on how my skin is, I do use the H2Omega shot the most due to me having such dry/dehydrated skin, but the B12 and Chlorophyll are also fantastic and my skin definitely looks and feels better for using them, the B12 is brilliant for my dull skin and the Chlorophyll for when I suffer with breakouts, it's a fabulous little set and one I highly recommend.

I have been really impressed with both the Youth Juice Secret Oil and the Complexion Cocktails and I have been checking out the Time Bomb website to look at their other products and they have some great products some of which have definitely caught my eye. If you have yet to try Time Bomb, I can highly recommend the oil and the complexion cocktails, they are great products and have made a real difference to the way my skin looks and feels.

If you would like to try the Complexion Cocktails Travel Set, you can find it here on the Time Bomb website, priced at £30.00 for a set of 3 x 30ml or if you would prefer to try just the H2Omega you can find that on the website here, sizes available are 30ml £10.00, 100ml £24.50 and 150ml £30.00.

Have you tried Time Bomb skincare? or haircare? And if so, whats your favourite product?
