NOTD - Essie Chillato

NOTD - Essie Chillato

Hello Lovelies,

Today's NOTD post includes a new polish I recently picked up it is one the polishes from Essie's summer 2015 collection Chillato, it's a pale lemony/lime colour and although I never wear green nail polish, something drew me in to Chillato and I bought it.

I used 3 coats of Chillato and finished as always with a coat of my holy grail top coat, the Orly Glosser top coat.

NOTD - Essie Chillato

In all honesty I'm not thrilled with this polish and think it will look much better when I have been on holiday and have a sun tan, I think I'm just too pale to pull this colour off. It's a lovely colour and I love it in the bottle but I just don't think it suits me at all, I think it would look incredible on someone with a darker skin tone than me and I will be taking it on holiday so I can wear it when I'm tanned but I think for now, it's really not me.

I think I'll stick to pink and corals until I have a bit more colour, it's a shame as I love the polish, I'll let you know if it did work when I've been on my holidays and worn it.

If you would like to try Essie's Chillato you can find it from Boots here and Superdrug here for £7.99.

Have you tried any of the Essie summer 2015 collection? Which one is your favourite?

Thank you for reading, much love as always,

MAC Diva-Ish

Hello Lovelies,

MAC recently launched a collection MAC Is Beauty and in that collection were some beautiful lipsticks and one of the lipsticks from that collection is Diva-ish, described as an intense fuchsia this shade is right up my street, I love pink and I love bright lip colours and Diva-ish looked promising as both a lovely pink and a bright lip colour.

Diva-ish* applied well and didn't feel dragging or drying on my lips, it is worth saying however that I don't suffer with dry lips at all and never have a problem with lip products drying my lips out but some products do drag and this one didn't. Diva-ish is an amplified finish, I really like the amplified finish lipsticks from MAC they have the lasting power of a matte with a hint of sheen to the lips, I would describe Diva-ish as being very similar to Girl About Town but less vibrant, I always describe Girl About Town as a "winter pink" as it is a little darker and looks great in winter when you want that bright lip without it being a summer bright and Diva-ish to me is another "winter pink" it is darker toned than Girl About Town but is a fuchsia shade.

I love Diva-ish and would definitely recommend it if like me you like to wear a bright lip or if you have Girl About Town and like that. I got around 4/5 hours strong colour payoff wear time from Diva-ish and didn't experience any bleeding or feathering, it applied nicely and felt nice on my lips and also wore off well, if you like pinks and or brights and you also like Girl About Town, you'll like Diva-ish too, it's a lovely lipstick and one I'm happy to add to my collection.

You can find Diva-ish on the MAC website for £15.50 here

What are your favourite MAC lipsticks?

Thank you for reading, much love as always,

OGX Shampoo - Review

OGX Shampoo - Review

Hello Lovelies,

As you know I love researching and trying new beauty products and I've been looking into the OGX hair products for a while now, they have an amazing range of shampoo and conditioners plus other products such as oils and masks and the products sound amazing, the only thing that was putting me off was my oily hair, I worried that the shampoo would cause my hair to become oily more quickly and if you're a regular reader of my blog you'll have heard me say that I like to use a clarifying shampoo or a detoxifying shampoo (full reviews of my current favourites here and here) to combat my oily hair but I wanted a shampoo I could use in between, something good for my hair, not damaging and something that wouldn't undo all the good that a clarifying/detoxifying shampoo does in regards to keeping my oily hair under control.

I've been researching the OGX (formally Organix) brand for a while now and their products are fantastic for the price, but they have so many different shampoos to choose from I really was spoilt for choice, I recently went into Boots and saw they had a 3 for 2 promotion on all hair care products and my mind was made up, I was going to try some of their products. I bought 3 shampoos, 2 of the Lemon Highlights shampoo's and 1 of the Kukui Oil shampoo's they were £6.99 each for 385ml and on because of the offer I paid £13.98 for all 3 products which is a great price.

What OGX Say About OGX

OGX® is for all of us who aspire to make better choices. Our paraben-free, salon-inspired formulas contain exotic, active ingredients. Plus, they smell absolutely amazing. Our mission? We will never sacrifice performance in our quest for sustainability. OGX® products do not contain Sodium Laureth Sulfate or Sodium Laurel Sulfate.

My Thoughts

As I said I bought 2 different shampoos the Kukui Oil and the Lemon Highlights. I used the Lemon Hightlights shampoo first and the first thing I noticed was the scent, it smells amazing, it smells of coconut and a little lemony but sweet and fresh at the same time it's so hard to explain but it smells so good! It lathered up well and I didn't need a lot of product, it felt very luxurious to use and it rinsed out well too. I dried and styled my hair as normal using the Bumble & Bumble All Style Blow Dry cream before drying and styling as I always do, I felt it was a fair review to use the all style as I would usually use it.

OGX Shampoo - Review

My hair dried and styled well and felt soft and smooth once it was dry and styled, it was soft and also easy to brush through and it smelled amazing, my hair was also really shiny which is something of a rarity because it's blonde and blonde hair isn't usually shiny but it was and looked and felt lovely. I worried that the day after my hair would be oily and need washing but it was fine, I was able to wear it down again adding a little dry shampoo around my hair line, I needed to wash my hair the day after as it was quite oily but I was impressed my hair wasn't super oily the day after.

OGX Shampoo - Review

The Kukui Oil shampoo was the same as the Lemon Highlights, it smelled absolutely amazing, not the same obviously, and I can't quite explain what the Kukui Oil shampoo smelled of, it was sweet but not sickly and just a really lovely scent, as with the Lemon Highlights, the shampoo lathered well and also rinsed out well and my hair looked and felt amazing, it was shiny, smooth and looked and smelled amazing.

Overall Thoughts & Would I Re Purchase?

I am super impressed with the OGX shampoos and will 1 million percent be re purchasing, I already have the shampoo and conditioners on my holiday shopping list, I think both will be lovely to use on holiday especially the Kukui Oil as it claims to be good for humidity and holiday hair can be a nightmare,  I also want to try the Cherry Blossom shampoo and conditioner too and can only imagine they will smell amazing too. There are numerous different shampoos and conditioners to choose from in the range as well as oils and hair masks you can read all about them on the OGX website, they also have an FAQ page which is really helpful.

Usually a shampoo and conditioner that is free from sulphates would be very expensive so for the OGX range to be £6.99 is a fantastic price, my eldest daughter Cole knows a lot when it comes to hair and hair care as she's a hair stylist and make up artist,  she has used the shampoos and is also really impressed with them, she has dry hair and loved the way the Kukui Oil shampoo made her hair feel, she always buys sulphate free products and usually pays 3 times the price of the OGX so she was really happy with both the price and the results the shampoo gave her hair. I also love that the products are paraben free, they are also not tested on animals.

I will continue to use the shampoo once or twice a week and use my detoxifying shampoos the rest of the time, I love the way the OGX leaves my hair feeling and it's a nice treat for my hair once or twice a week, I will definitely purchase the shampoos for my holidays and I am going to try the conditioners too, I wash my hair daily on holiday so even using a conditioner won't make my hair oily, at home I'll stick with the Ojon conditioner I love. I think sulphate free shampoo for £6.99 is a brilliant price, and the shampoos smell amazing, they lather well, rinse well and leave my hair looking and feeling lovely, I will definitely be re purchasing, the only thing I need to decide is, which one do I buy?

If you would like to try the OGX shampoos you can find them at Boots for £6.99 and Superdrug for £4.66 per shampoo and conditioner.

Have you tried the OGX range? Which one is your favourite? Can you recommend a sulphate free shampoo that won't leave me with oily hair? Please let me know in the comments, it's lovely to chat to you there :)

Thank you for reading, much love as always,

Eucerin Product Review

Eucerin Product Review

Hello Lovelies,

I've recently been trying out some Eucerin products from one of my favourite beauty websites Look Fantastic.  I've been using the products for a couple of weeks now and wanted to share my thoughts with you.

Eucerin Product Review
Eucerin Product Review

The Aquaphor is a balm product suitable for very dry or cracked skin, it is specially formulated with hydrating panthenol and contains glycerin to lock in moisture and provide a protective barrier on the skins surface. It is Free from alcohol, colourants, fragrance and preservatives and is non-acnegenic and non-comedogenic and is even gentle enough to be used on babies. I have sensitive skin and I also suffer from eczema and psoriasis and have extremely dry skin. I have been having a few skin care issues recently and was interested to see if the Aquaphor would help.  My psoriasis and eczema have recently flared up probably due to some health issues I'm having and although I do have some prescribed treatment I wasn't finding they were helping and thought I'd try the Aquaphor, I applied a small amount to a patch of my psoriasis and it didn't irritate it or sting so I applied more before bed, I was pleasantly surprised in the morning when my skin had calmed down a lot and have been using the Aquaphor ever since and it has really helped. We're off on our holidays soon and I like to make sure my feet are looking their best in my flip flops and I've been using a foot cream at night before bed and popping socks on, I've been applying the Aquaphor on my heels at night and they are super soft and sandal ready for my holidays now, I've also used it on a stubborn dry patch of skin on my forehead and it has made such a difference and recently when we had that nice warm weekend Cole my daughter got a little bit pink behind her knees and her skin felt tight, I suggested she try some Aquaphor on as it says it's for irritated skin and she said it did help to bring it down and it felt better and not tight at all.  I am super impressed with the Aquaphor and it will be coming on our holidays with us, it's a brilliant multi use balm and has been fantastic for me especially with my psoriasis and dry skin patches.

I have to admit I have never used a separate facial SPF before and rely on my daily moisturiser which does contain SPF for protection but since I've had this I have used it every day, it is a lovely product. I worried it wouldn't suit my skin type as I have dry skin and the Eucerin being a mattifying product I worried it would dry my skin out but it hasn't at all. It feels very light on my skin and does mattify  which I don't mind as I wear a lot of heavy moisturiser because of my dry skin and can look super shiny so this is great for helping with that especially before make up, my make up applied beautifully and didn't have any effect on my foundation it looked lovely and stayed in place all day. I am completely converted to a facial SPF and this is something I'll definitely continue with, it feels lovely and light on my skin and hasn't irritated it despite me having sensitive skin, it's a great product and with a high SPF of 50 very protective too.

I was intending to save this for my holidays but we recently had a rare weekend of lovely weather so I thought I would put it to the test before my holidays and to be honest I was dying to try it out. I suffer with prickly heat it is the bane of my life and during our family holidays Simon is often seen running to the local chemist on whatever Greek island we are staying on to find a remedy for me because I have had a flare up. I have used the same brand of sun protection for years because a doctor once told me it was good for prickly heat and although it is on the hole good I have still been known to suffer hence Simon on mad Greek pharmacy dashes. I was really interested to try the Eucerin and see if I got the dreaded prickly heat so when we had our 2 days of UK summer I put it to the test, I did think that being SPF 50 the creme gel would be thick and hard to apply but it wasn't at all it applied nicely and sank into my skin well too I wasn't out for long but long enough for me to get prickly heat or go a little pink and I'm pleased to say I wasn't pink or spotty, I had visible marks where my vest top straps had been but I didn't suffer for it and I didn't have any prickly heat which is amazing, unfortunately that was it for the nice weather where I live so the sun protection has been put with our holiday things and will get it's next outing in Greece but I feel better knowing that I didn't get the dreaded prickly heat when I tried it here in the UK and I can't wait to use it properly in Greece.

Eucerin Product Review

I was intrigued when I read that this was a 3 in 1 cleanser, toner and make up removing product as I have never seen a product like it before and certainly never tried one and being a complete skin care geek I couldn't wait to try it. I've never really been a fan of micellar waters as they have a tendency to dry my skin out but I kept an open mind especially as this one contains hyaluronic acid and gluco-glycerol to moisturise and hydrate the skin, I used the 3 in 1 fluid both in the morning and in the evening when wearing make up so I could give it a thorough test, I first used it in the evening to remove my make up, I was wearing a full face of make up including foundation, concealer, blush, eye shadow, mascara, face powder and lipstick, I applied some of the 3 in 1 fluid to a cotton pad and swept it across my face starting with my forehead, when removing my make up with any kind make up removing fluid I always remove my face make up and then my eye make up, so I swept the cotton pad across my forehead and then onto my cheeks and chin and across my lips and then used another cotton pad in the same way for my eyes using one side on one eye and the other side on the other eye. All my make up removed with ease including the waterproof mascara I was wearing and bright lipstick, I used a third cotton pad to ensure all the make up had been removed and although there were some traces of make up the cotton pad wasn't covered, I was pleasantly surprised as I expected to use more cotton pads than 3, I use 3 in the same way when using my usual oil based make up remover so was really pleased to use the same amount with a non oil based product. I decided I would use the product as intended and didn't use a separate toner or cleanser and I didn't apply my moisturiser for a few hours to test if the product dried my skin out and I am pleased to report that it didn't, usually me and micellar waters just don't get on but this 3 in 1 is like nothing I've tried before it removes my make up really well and leaves my skin feeling clean and fresh without need for a second cleanse. I have also used the 3 in 1 fluid in the morning as my morning cleanse and my skin felt clean an soft and to be honest I didn't ever think I would like this product as much as I do and I had every intention to try it out and save it for my holidays but I keep using it and at the rate I'm going I'll have nothing to take on holiday! It's a great product, easy to use, doesn't dry my skin out and does exactly what it claims it will do it removes my make up and cleanses and tones my skin beautifully I love it.

Overall Thoughts

Overall I am really impressed with every single Eucerin product I have tried, my stand out favourite though has to be the DermatoCLEAN Micellar 3 In 1 Cleansing Fluid and I honestly didn't ever think I would say that, it is an amazing product and one I will definitely re purchase once mine has finished,  I also loved the Aquaphor and am really pleased with the effect it has had on my psoriasis it is a brilliant multi purpose product. I loved all the products and cannot wait to use the sun protection on my holidays since my weekend test went so well and the facial SPF really has converted me to using a separate SPF which I've never done before. I would recommend all the products and wouldn't hesitate to re purchase any of them.

If you would like to try any of the products mentioned you can find them on the Look Fantastic website which is a great site for beauty products and has been a firm favourite of mine for many years.

Have you tried any Eucerin products? What are your favourites?

Thank you for reading, much love as always,

Barry M Matte Me Up Lip Crayon In Pack A Punch

Barry M Matte Me Up Lip Crayon In Pack A Punch

Hello Lovelies,

On a recent shopping trip to our local retail park I noticed there was a Boots and of course it would have been rude not to go in, whilst shopping for some essentials for our holidays I naturally found myself over at the make up department and noticed that Barry M had a half price offer on some of their items.

I saw the Matte Me Up Lip Crayon in pack a punch (02) a gorgeous bright coral/peach shade and one perfect for the summer, I love coral lip shades for the summer and thought pack a punch would be especially nice to wear on my holidays.

As I said Barry M had a half price offer on certain make up items and the lip crayons were part of that offer meaning they were £2.49 instead of £4.99 and after swatching it and loving the colour I couldn't leave it there for half the price.

What Barry M Says About The Matte Me Up Lip Crayon

Matte Me Up Lip Crayons are a handbag essential for every fashionista.  In 5 catwalk-inspired shades, their creamy, velvet-matte texture glides on smoothly to provide a colour-packed finish.

My Thoughts

I was super excited to try the lip crayon and after swatching it in store it looked like it would be the perfect shade for me, I love matte lip products and love corals and bright colours and all for £2.49 I was so happy and couldn't wait to try it. As soon as I began to apply the lip crayon I knew I was going to be disappointed with it, the colour payoff was appalling and the lip crayon was nothing like I imagined it would be from swatching it, to be fair it didn't drag at all or feel too dry on my lips and for a matte product it did feel moisturising, but that is the only thing I can agree with from the description Barry M gives the lip crayon is not "colour packed" at all I could hardly see the colour and had to apply 4 layers of the crayon for the colour to show at all and what I was left with was a mediocre peach at best and certainly not a "pack a punch" bright coral/peach as the swatch and name suggests.

Me wearing Pack A Punch

Overall Thoughts & Would I Re Purchase?

I was so disappointed with the lip crayon, as you can see in the above photograph (which was taken for a thumbnail for one of my video's) I do not look as if I'm wearing a bright coral/peach lip colour, it is more of a pale pink/peach, I had only just applied the lip crayon in this photograph.

The lip crayon clings to any patches of dryness on the lips and considering I don't suffer from dry lips it still found patches of my lips to cling to, it wore away awfully leaving a ring of peach colour around my lips and the wear time was horrendous, at best I got 30 minutes of colour and after 1 hour all you could see was the unsightly peach line around my lips.

The only redeeming feature is that the lip crayon didn't feel drying although it looked it and it didn't drag when I applied it but apart from that I cannot think of anything good to say about it. I'm just glad I didn't pay £4.99 for it or I would have felt even more disappointed.

If you would like to try any of the Barry M Matte Me Up Lip Crayons, they are available in 5 shades and you can buy them at Boots and Superdrug for £4.99.

Have you ever swatched something and thought it would be amazing only to find it was awful?

Thank you for reading, much love as always,

Appleyard kindly gifted me the Summer Coulis Bouquet* £34.99 a beautiful bright and summery bouquet and I couldn't wait to share it with you, I also have an amazing discount code to share with you but more on that later, first I want to share my beautiful flowers with you.

When I had my flowers delivered they arrived in a box which was easy to open, then inside the box the flowers were carefully wrapped in cellophane they were hand tied and stored in a hydration box, the flowers were wrapped carefully and well, they were secure and were not damaged at all, I was really impressed with how well packaged the flowers were and liked that they were stored in the hydration box. The flowers were easy to remove from the packaging and I loved that they were hand tied because I'm not the worlds greatest flower arranger but it was so easy to pop them into my vase and they looked amazing because they'd been arranged and hand tied so beautifully.

The Summer Coulis bouquet is part of the summer range from Appleyard and as you can see it is stunning, it contains cerise germini, vibrant wow and tara roses, blue agapanthus and summer foliage,  I loved all the bright summery colours of the flowers and the mix of different flowers complimented each other really beautifully, the flowers smelled amazing too. The flowers were placed on the windowsill next to where I sit so I could see them all the time and they brought some much needed summer sun and brightness into my home, we've had an appalling summer but the flowers really brought summer into my lounge and everyone who visited me commented on how beautiful they were. My bouquet lasted for over 10 days which I thought was amazing I have never had a bouquet delivered that's lasted as long before, I was extremely impressed with how well they lasted.

As I said I have an amazing and very generous discount code for you which will enable you to receive a 33% discount off any flowers (apart from the flowers by post range) on the Appleyard website it's an amazing offer and there is no expiry date so you can send flowers to a friend or loved one or even treat yourself there are a few different delivery options including next day flower delivery and the site is easy to use, the hardest part is choosing from so many stunning bouquets.

There are so many beautiful bouquets to choose from, the discount code is BLOG33 and as I said this will give you a generous discount of 33% which I think is amazing, please let me know if you do order some flowers which ones you choose, they are all stunning so I think you may well be spoilt for choice but I'd love to know which ones you chose if you do use the code.

Do you like fresh flowers? What are your favourites?

Jewel Candle Bath Bomb Cupcake And Soap Review

Jewel Candle Bath Bomb Cupcake And Soap Review

Jewel Candle Bath Bomb Cupcake And Soap Review

Hello Lovelies,

I've featured Jewel Candle both on my blog (here) and my you tube channel ( here & here) before, Jewel Candle sell candles that contain a hidden piece of 925 silver jewellery up to the value of £250 and dependant on which candle you choose you will find either a ring, a pendant or a pair of earrings wrapped securely and hidden within the candle which you can remove as the candle burns down. Jewel Candle have recently added some new products to their range and now sell Jewel Bath bath products, all the bath products contain a piece of jewellery and just like the candles you can choose from a ring, a pendant or a pair of earrings. There are various different bath products to choose from including Bath Salts, Bath Bombs, Cupcake Bath Bombs and Soaps each product comes in a different scent and for each scent you can choose either a ring, a pendant or a pair of earrings.

I was kindly asked to choose 2 items from the Cupcake Bath Bomb and Soap ranges and I chose the I Love You Cupcake Bath Bomb* with the earring option £19.95 (was £24.95) and I chose the Honey & Milk Soapwith the ring option £19.95 (was £24.95) it wasn't hard for me to choose the bath bomb and if you've been reading my blog or watching my channel for a while you'll know why, I love anything with love hearts on so I was instantly drawn to the I Love You cupcake bath bomb and I love the scent of honey and milk so that was an easy choice too but there are some gorgeous cupcake bath bombs to choose from and the soaps all sound lovely.

Jewel Candle Bath Bomb Cupcake And Soap Review

The soaps are a good size and wrapped nicely they were easy to open and the jewellery was housed in the side of one of the soaps which I saw as soon as I opened it, it was easy to remove and open and because of the way the jewellery is hidden in the soap you don't have to use the soap to find out whats inside so if like me you're inpatient it's brilliant, I couldn't wait to find out what the ring was like and when I saw it I was super happy.

Jewel Candle Bath Bomb Cupcake And Soap Review

Jewel Candle Bath Bomb Cupcake And Soap Review

It's a gorgeous heart ring with diamante detailing at the sides of the heart as I said I love anything heart shaped and I love sparkly things too so the ring is perfect for me it really is beautiful, it looks so pretty on.

The soap smells lovely and is neither over powering nor subtle it's just a nice scent of honey and milk and smelled exactly as I'd hoped it would, it felt lovely on my dry skin and has lasted really well, in fact I still have some left and have been using it for the last few weeks now, in all honesty I'm not a soap person and use liquid soap at the sink and shower gel in the shower and haven't used a bar of soap for a long time so I was unsure I'd like the soap but I was surprised to find I have really enjoyed using it, the ingredients are perfect for my dry skin, it contains Coconut Oil, Canola Oil, Olive Oil, Mango Butter, Organic Milk, Peach Kernel Oil, Apricot Kernel Oil, Calendula Oil, Palmarosa Essential Oil, Geranium Essential Oil , Grapefruit Essential Oil, Calendula Petals, Organic Honey, all lovely ingredients that are brilliant for dry skin, I also have sensitive skin and didn't have any problems at all using the soap.

Jewel Candle Bath Bomb Cupcake And Soap Review

Jewel Candle Bath Bomb Cupcake And Soap Review

The cupcake bath bomb is divided into two parts, the base where the jewellery is hidden is the bath bomb and the top which is an exfoliating body scrub, you can pull the cupcake apart or you can pop it into the bath and once it starts to fizz take it out and remove the top part (the scrub) leave the bath bomb to dissolve and then find your jewellery. The box the cupcake bath bomb comes in has easy to follow instructions on the back and there was also an instruction card attached to the packaging of the cupcake.

The I Love You cupcake bath bomb is so pretty I loved the love heart on the top and the heart decoration on the cupcake case too and on the one hand it looked too lovely to use but then I couldn't wait to see what the earrings inside were like, it looks just like a cupcake and when I showed it to my friends and family they were surprised to find it was a bath bomb it looked so realistic, the bath bomb has a strawberry scent and contains dried strawberries, and the body scrub contains essential oils to help smooth and nourish the skin.

We don't have a bath at home we have a double walk in shower so I went to my mums to use my bath bomb and she was extremely jealous when she saw it and asked if she could use it instead, I decided I would pop the whole cupcake into the water and remove the body scrub section once it had started to fizz.

Jewel Candle Bath Bomb Cupcake And Soap Review

Jewel Candle Bath Bomb Cupcake And Soap Review

I removed the body scrub and left the bath bomb to dissolve which took around 10 minutes, once it had dissolved and stopped fizzing my mum found the little parcel with the earrings inside. The bath bomb left my skin feeling lovely and soft and smelled beautiful it is a nice soft strawberry scent that isn't over powering at all, I found the body scrub really nice to use and it left my skin feeling lovely and soft and smooth the scrub wasn't too harsh for me as I use body scrubs all the time but if you don't or you have very sensitive skin I would go gently with it, I used the body scrub twice but probably could have gotten three or four uses out of it, I like to use a lot of product but I could have gotten another couple of uses from it had I used less.

The earrings that were inside my bath bomb are a beautiful what I would call "sun shaped" silver earring with a gorgeous pale blue stone in the centre of the earring, they are so pretty and look lovely, I have issues when wearing earrings and my ears become sore when I wear costume jewellery but because these are silver I can wear them for as long as I like and they don't hurt at all.

I was so impressed with both the soap and the cupcake bath bomb the soap has lasted so well and and the cupcake bath bomb and scrub left my skin feeling amazing and to have such lovely products and a beautiful ring and a pair of earrings up to the value of £250 is for £19.95 each is pretty amazing, the bath products from Jewel Candle would make ideal gifts they are lovely items and whoever receives the gift is getting two gifts because they have their bath product and their jewellery or you could treat yourself and have a pamper night it really is extremely exciting waiting for the bath bomb to dissolve so you can discover the hidden jewellery inside.

If you would like to find out more about Jewel Candle or see what products they have on offer you can visit their website here

What would you choose from Jewel Candle?

Thank you for reading, much love as always,

Look Fantastic Beauty Box - August

Hello Lovelies,

I recently received the August Look Fantastic Beauty Box and today I'm sharing my thoughts on the box with you, I love Look Fantastic and have used their site for many years to buy my beauty products so I had high hopes for their beauty box and couldn't wait to find out what was inside the August box and I have to say I'm not disappointed.

The Look Fantastic Beauty Box* have a new box each month but unlike some other beauty boxes you don't have to choose a monthly subscription and can purchase your box on a monthly basis if you prefer but if subscriptions are your thing you can also order a monthly subscription of 3, 6 or 12 months, without a subscription the box the cost of the box is £15 and with a monthly subscription the cost of the box varies and are as follows

3 Month Plan - £13.33 per box saving you £5
6 Month Plan - £12.50 per box saving you £15
12 Month Plan - £11.25 per box saving you £45

The Products

The first item in the box is the Omorovicza Queen Of Hungary Mist ( 1.8ml worth 45p) I have never tried the brand Omorovicza before but I have heard a lot of good things about them, the mist is described as a purifying and hydrating toner perfect for a post cleanse toner or a mid day pick me up. I like to use a hydrating toner which I spritz onto my face after using an acid tone and although this is a sample size I am looking forward to trying it and should be able to use it a few times.

The next product in the box is the Beauty Works 10 in 1 Miracle Spray (25ml worth £2.39) This is the first of 2 hair products in the box and it claims to be a 10 in 1 spray which eliminates frizz, restores shine, nourishes, replenishes oil, protects from heat, detangles, conditions, prevents split ends, enhances natural body and repairs dry/damaged hair. I like trying out hair products, I suffer from oily hair and often shy away from trying out products as they can be expensive only for me to find they make my hair even more oily so for me to be able to try out 2 new hair products is brilliant and I'm really looking forward to trying them both out.

Next is the other hair product in the box the Caviar CC 10 in 1 Cream (25ml worth £8.42) One of my favourite hair products is a cream product which also has a variety of different benefits so I am looking forward to finding out if this is a contender to replace it, the CC cream is paraben and sulphate free which are both things I look for when choosing hair products, I am really looking forward to trying this out.

Next up is the Bella Pierre Cosmetics Shimmer Powder (full size product worth £12.99) this is one of 2 make up products in the box and is a lovely shimmery powder as the name suggests and is in the shade Snowflake which is a nice wearable shade that I'm sure will suit most skin tones. I will use this as a highlight for my cheekbones and brow bone and am going to try it on my eyes too, I think it could look nice as an inner corner highlight.

Staying with make up next up is the Rimmel Wake Me Up Wonder'full Mascara (full size worth £7.99) The August boxes all contain a full size Rimmel product and theres 4 different products varying from box to box so you could also get the Scandaleyes XX-Treme Volume & Length Mascara, the Provocalips 16 hour lip colour or the Wake Me Up Wonder'full mascara with Argan oil so it's a complete surprise which Rimmel product you will get. The wand on this mascara is hourglass shaped which seems to be a popular shaped wand at the moment across brands. I'm really looking forward to trying this mascara and if it's as good as the wake me up foundation I'll be happy.

Last but by no means least is the Eve Lom Cleanser plus a muslin cloth (30ml size worth £16.50) I have tried this cleanser before and it is lovely, it's a couple of years ago now since I tried but I did really like it so I am looking forward to using it again, I'm a real skin care geek as I'm sure you'll know so this product excites me greatly and with the sample being £16 it pays for the price of this months box which is fantastic.

I am extremely impressed with the contents of the August box, there isn't a product I am disappointed with and wouldn't use, I am going to be taking some of the products on my up coming summer holiday as they are brilliant sizes for travel, overall I am super impressed with the box and can't wait to use everything in it. The box is worth £48.74 and costs £15 which is brilliant and it's a great way of trying out products you might not have tried before, there's make up, hair care and skin care too so a good mix of products, overall I think it's a great box and I'm super impressed. Next months box is a special edition first birthday box so I am super excited to see what's in that box and if it's as good as this one it'll be fabulous.
