Boots Haul And Some New In Beauty Products

Boots Haul And Some New In Beauty Products

Hello Lovelies

I paid a visit to Boots at the weekend and picked up a few things so thought I would share with you what I purchased, some of the items I picked up are new beauty launches, some are re purchases and some are products I haven't tried before, I haven't purchased anything for a while so it's nice to be writing a haul post, I hope you enjoy it.

New Beauty Launches

First of all I thought I'd start off with the most exciting purchases, the new beauty launches. The first new product I picked up or products I should say, are two of the new Barry M Frosted Cupcakes nail paints, there are four shades in the range, Marshmallow, Strawberries & Cream, Earl Grey and Blue Velvet and I chose Marshmallow and Strawberries & Cream.

Both shades are muted shades, Marshmallow is a cream/beige with glitter particles and Strawberries & Cream is a muted pink with glitter particles and both look lovely shades, I can't wait to try them and will of course be following this haul post up with reviews of the products I have purchased so if you like the look of these polishes, keep an eye out for a NOTD featuring them. The Barry M Frosted Cupcake nail paints are £3.99 each but are currently on a 2 for £6.00 offer, you can find them here if you would like to try them.

The next new beauty launches are from L'Oreal and they are the L'Oreal Infaillible Blush Paint Chubby blush sticks, there were 3 shades to choose from and I picked up 2 of the shades, the shades I chose are Pinkabilly and Fuchsia Flame.

The chubby blushes are cream to powder blushes, both the shades I picked up are quite bright shades, one is a bright pink and one a coral pink, no surprise there then! If you have been reading my blog a while, you'll know that during the spring/summer months, I love to wear coral blush, lips and nails rather a lot. Having dry skin, I love cream blushers and blush is one of my favourite makeup items to buy so I am really looking forward to using these, I think they'll be perfect summer blush shades for me as both look right up my street. The L'Oreal Infaillible Blush Paint Chubby blushes are priced at £6.99 each, but are currently on offer for 2 for £12.00, if you would like to pick them up too, you will find them here

New To Me Products

The first new to me product I picked up is one of the Garnier Skinactive Moisture Bomb Tissue Mask, I have seen these floating around for a while now but never tried one and last week I was reading one of the lovely Antonia's blog posts where she compared one of these masks to a high end brand and I thought I'd like to give one a try so when I saw them reduced to 99p I picked one up.

Garnier Skin Active Moisture Bomb Tissue Mask

Tissue masks are very popular at the minute and this one is a hydrating mask, having extremely dry and dehydrated skin I figured it would be the perfect mask for me so I am really looking forward to trying it out. My skin is awful at the moment, so fingers crossed this will help, and if it does I shall definitely be re purchasing at such a brilliant price, if you would like to give this mask a try, you can find it here priced at 99p (was £1.49).

Next I picked up some of the Boots own brand Fresh & Crisp Apple Shampoo, this was an amazing price of 75p and is a 500ml bottle which I didn't think was too bad at all.

I use the Lee Stafford Bleach Blondes shampoo to wash my hair 99% of the time but sometimes I use other shampoo's if I've run out of the Lee Stafford or if I just fancy something different, my hair is super oily and I have tried just about every shampoo for oily hair on the market and did always use one of those but since having a bit of a hair nightmare when my medication had an effect on my hair colour, I began to use the Lee Stafford and it has been brilliant, so I have used that rather than a shampoo for oily hair for the last few months now. I do buy regular everyday shampoo for the girls and Simon to use and sometimes I will use that too, the apple shampoo smells amazing, they also had strawberry and coconut and both smelt equally incredible but the apple is lovely and fresh. I used this shampoo this morning as I write this post and my hair has smelt lovely all day, it feels fresh and clean and is nice and shiny so not bad at all for 75p, I doubt the shampoo is groundbreaking but for the money it is nice and is something I will pick up again, it will be interesting to see if my hair is oily in the morning as it would normally be. If you would like to try the apple shampoo, you can find it here.

The last 2 things I picked up that I haven't tried before are the Flexitol Heel Balm and the Flexitol Hard Skin & Callus Balm. I have pedicures around 4 times a year at least but in between Simon and the girls take care of my feet for me, trimming my nails and making sure my feet are soft etc.

I have been buying Flexitol foot cream for dry feet and legs for a couple of years now and it is brilliant for my dry skin but I have been having some massive problems with my feet for the last 12 months, they are sore, the bones and joints are sore and aching but my skin is also sore and very thin in some areas but thicker in others, it is very painful all round and I was recently referred to the orthopaedics department of my local hospital regarding the problems I am having with my feet. The consultant I saw recommended keeping up with the pedicures but she also recommended seeing a chiropodist/poiatrist too,  the consultant asked if I used any creams so I said yes I used Flexitol and the she said she always recommended using Flexitol foot creams, and that they are the best on the market and will help the most. Since I haven't tried these two Flexitol creams before, when we saw them Simon suggested picking them up to try, i'm hoping they will be as good as my regular Flexitol cream, if not better. If you would like to try the Flexitol creams, you can find them here and here.

Re Purchases

The first re purchase I picked up are some of my favourite cotton wool pads, does it sound strange that I have favourite cotton wool pads? I have been using these pads for over a year now, maybe more, I used to use the baby cotton pads from Superdrug but after not being able to get them every time I looked for them, I swapped over to the Boots Baby Extra Large Cotton Pads and have used them since.

These cotton pads are brilliant, they are really large and thick and brilliant for many different things, I use them with makeup remover to remove my makeup, to apply my micellar cleansers and to apply my toner and I also use them with nail polish remover to take off my nail polish, they are really good and I highly recommend them to anyone who uses cotton pads regularly. They are usually on offer and were when I picked them up, they are £2.29 but were on a buy one get one half price deal so I picked up 2 packs, if you would like to give them a go, you can find them here.

Lastly I picked up on of the Hard Skin, Corn And Callus File, these files are great for keeping my feet nice and smooth and soft, I have been re purchasing them for a few years now and in between going for pedicures the file keeps my skin baby soft.

If you would like to try the foot file, you can pick one up here priced at £4.69.

So those are all the items I picked up from my recent trip to Boots. I will of course have review posts coming up on the L'Oreal blushers, the Barry M nail polishes and the Garnier face mask but if you would like to know how I get on with the shampoo and the foot creams, please let me know in the comments if you would like blog posts on those too.

Which item/items are you most looking forward to a review post on?

Thank you for reading, much love as always
