A few weeks before Christmas I went shopping with Cole and the Chubby Stick Intense had just been launched, we were in Debenhams and the Clinique counter there had them so we decided to swatch them, I was in love and definitely not disappointed and liked so many of the colours but the colour I was most drawn to was Curviest Caramel, a lovely nude colour. I was surprised that I liked this colour so much as normally I don't go for nudes as the don't always suit me, for example I look horrendous in MAC Hue, I look dead for want of a better word. But I really liked Curviest Caramel, it looked the perfect nude for me. Being so close to Christmas though I couldn't justify spending £16.00 on something I didn't really need but wanted.
Something I didn't know at the time of my shopping trip with Cole was that she had been into Clinique a few days before on her way home from uni and bought me Curviest Caramel for a Christmas present as she too thought it would be a lovely nude for me and she too was drawn to it, how funny, a definite mum and daughter telepathic moment me thinks! On Christmas Day I was thrilled to find Cole had bought me the Chubby Stick Intense and could not wait to use it.
The Chubby Stick Intense in Curviest Caramel
I love the packaging
The Chubby Stick Intense is a lovely product and extremely hydrating, I am lucky and don't have a problem with dry lips but I imagine if you did these would be amazing, they are so lovely and feel so creamy and smooth and very balm like. The colour payoff is that of a lipstick and I got around 2-3 hours wear out of mine when eating and drinking.
A swatch of Curviest Caramel
The Chubby Stick Intense is almost like a lipstick in crayon form mixed with a really good lip balm, they apply very much like a crayon, I found this a good way of applying it and found it easier to follow my natural lip line than with an ordinary lipstick. The packaging is sleek and classy and not too big to pop into your handbag to use on the go.
Curviest Caramel is a nude colour which is lovely and hydrating without being glossy, it has a little sheen to it almost comparable to a cremesheen by MAC but certainly not glossy, the photograph looks a little glossy I'm afraid that is the beauty of winter lighting, the bane of my life! I struggle with nudes as I have quite a lot of blue in my lips due to my medication so many nudes just don't suit me but this is lovely, I am very impressed would definitely re purchase and would love to try more of the Clinique Chubby Stick Intense, I love the look of Heftiest Hibiscus a lovely orange colour, it would be perfect for a summers day. I have also seen Clinique are bringing out Chubby Sticks for the eyes, I think they are trying to do some serious damage to my bank balance!
