Hello Lovelies,
I've recently been trying out some Eucerin products from one of my favourite beauty websites Look Fantastic. I've been using the products for a couple of weeks now and wanted to share my thoughts with you.
The Aquaphor is a balm product suitable for very dry or cracked skin, it is specially formulated with hydrating panthenol and contains glycerin to lock in moisture and provide a protective barrier on the skins surface. It is Free from alcohol, colourants, fragrance and preservatives and is non-acnegenic and non-comedogenic and is even gentle enough to be used on babies. I have sensitive skin and I also suffer from eczema and psoriasis and have extremely dry skin. I have been having a few skin care issues recently and was interested to see if the Aquaphor would help. My psoriasis and eczema have recently flared up probably due to some health issues I'm having and although I do have some prescribed treatment I wasn't finding they were helping and thought I'd try the Aquaphor, I applied a small amount to a patch of my psoriasis and it didn't irritate it or sting so I applied more before bed, I was pleasantly surprised in the morning when my skin had calmed down a lot and have been using the Aquaphor ever since and it has really helped. We're off on our holidays soon and I like to make sure my feet are looking their best in my flip flops and I've been using a foot cream at night before bed and popping socks on, I've been applying the Aquaphor on my heels at night and they are super soft and sandal ready for my holidays now, I've also used it on a stubborn dry patch of skin on my forehead and it has made such a difference and recently when we had that nice warm weekend Cole my daughter got a little bit pink behind her knees and her skin felt tight, I suggested she try some Aquaphor on as it says it's for irritated skin and she said it did help to bring it down and it felt better and not tight at all. I am super impressed with the Aquaphor and it will be coming on our holidays with us, it's a brilliant multi use balm and has been fantastic for me especially with my psoriasis and dry skin patches.
I have to admit I have never used a separate facial SPF before and rely on my daily moisturiser which does contain SPF for protection but since I've had this I have used it every day, it is a lovely product. I worried it wouldn't suit my skin type as I have dry skin and the Eucerin being a mattifying product I worried it would dry my skin out but it hasn't at all. It feels very light on my skin and does mattify which I don't mind as I wear a lot of heavy moisturiser because of my dry skin and can look super shiny so this is great for helping with that especially before make up, my make up applied beautifully and didn't have any effect on my foundation it looked lovely and stayed in place all day. I am completely converted to a facial SPF and this is something I'll definitely continue with, it feels lovely and light on my skin and hasn't irritated it despite me having sensitive skin, it's a great product and with a high SPF of 50 very protective too.
I was intending to save this for my holidays but we recently had a rare weekend of lovely weather so I thought I would put it to the test before my holidays and to be honest I was dying to try it out. I suffer with prickly heat it is the bane of my life and during our family holidays Simon is often seen running to the local chemist on whatever Greek island we are staying on to find a remedy for me because I have had a flare up. I have used the same brand of sun protection for years because a doctor once told me it was good for prickly heat and although it is on the hole good I have still been known to suffer hence Simon on mad Greek pharmacy dashes. I was really interested to try the Eucerin and see if I got the dreaded prickly heat so when we had our 2 days of UK summer I put it to the test, I did think that being SPF 50 the creme gel would be thick and hard to apply but it wasn't at all it applied nicely and sank into my skin well too I wasn't out for long but long enough for me to get prickly heat or go a little pink and I'm pleased to say I wasn't pink or spotty, I had visible marks where my vest top straps had been but I didn't suffer for it and I didn't have any prickly heat which is amazing, unfortunately that was it for the nice weather where I live so the sun protection has been put with our holiday things and will get it's next outing in Greece but I feel better knowing that I didn't get the dreaded prickly heat when I tried it here in the UK and I can't wait to use it properly in Greece.
I was intrigued when I read that this was a 3 in 1 cleanser, toner and make up removing product as I have never seen a product like it before and certainly never tried one and being a complete skin care geek I couldn't wait to try it. I've never really been a fan of micellar waters as they have a tendency to dry my skin out but I kept an open mind especially as this one contains hyaluronic acid and gluco-glycerol to moisturise and hydrate the skin, I used the 3 in 1 fluid both in the morning and in the evening when wearing make up so I could give it a thorough test, I first used it in the evening to remove my make up, I was wearing a full face of make up including foundation, concealer, blush, eye shadow, mascara, face powder and lipstick, I applied some of the 3 in 1 fluid to a cotton pad and swept it across my face starting with my forehead, when removing my make up with any kind make up removing fluid I always remove my face make up and then my eye make up, so I swept the cotton pad across my forehead and then onto my cheeks and chin and across my lips and then used another cotton pad in the same way for my eyes using one side on one eye and the other side on the other eye. All my make up removed with ease including the waterproof mascara I was wearing and bright lipstick, I used a third cotton pad to ensure all the make up had been removed and although there were some traces of make up the cotton pad wasn't covered, I was pleasantly surprised as I expected to use more cotton pads than 3, I use 3 in the same way when using my usual oil based make up remover so was really pleased to use the same amount with a non oil based product. I decided I would use the product as intended and didn't use a separate toner or cleanser and I didn't apply my moisturiser for a few hours to test if the product dried my skin out and I am pleased to report that it didn't, usually me and micellar waters just don't get on but this 3 in 1 is like nothing I've tried before it removes my make up really well and leaves my skin feeling clean and fresh without need for a second cleanse. I have also used the 3 in 1 fluid in the morning as my morning cleanse and my skin felt clean an soft and to be honest I didn't ever think I would like this product as much as I do and I had every intention to try it out and save it for my holidays but I keep using it and at the rate I'm going I'll have nothing to take on holiday! It's a great product, easy to use, doesn't dry my skin out and does exactly what it claims it will do it removes my make up and cleanses and tones my skin beautifully I love it.
Overall Thoughts
Overall I am really impressed with every single Eucerin product I have tried, my stand out favourite though has to be the DermatoCLEAN Micellar 3 In 1 Cleansing Fluid and I honestly didn't ever think I would say that, it is an amazing product and one I will definitely re purchase once mine has finished, I also loved the Aquaphor and am really pleased with the effect it has had on my psoriasis it is a brilliant multi purpose product. I loved all the products and cannot wait to use the sun protection on my holidays since my weekend test went so well and the facial SPF really has converted me to using a separate SPF which I've never done before. I would recommend all the products and wouldn't hesitate to re purchase any of them.
If you would like to try any of the products mentioned you can find them on the Look Fantastic website which is a great site for beauty products and has been a firm favourite of mine for many years.
