When the Neuroskinfeeds (NSF) MicroOil arrived at my house just over a couple of months ago, I was really excited. I hadn't ever heard of the Neuroskinfeeds brand, which can sometimes be the case when I receive PR products and I am always really excited when I am able to try out new products to share with you, but when it's a new product and a new brand too, it's even more exciting. For me it is one of the best things about blogging,  I have discovered so many new brands and their products through blogging, which is incredible, and I also get to share them with you so you can discover them too.

Neuroskinfeeds  MicroOil - £49.00

The Neuroskinfeeds Micro Oil - My Thoughts

MicroOil is the first product to launch from NSF, it is a multi functional product that takes care of not only your skin but also your mind and your mood. It comes in a 50ml bottle with a pipette dispenser, is suitable for all skin types including sensitive skin. NSF products are vegan, 100% natural and cruelty free.

NSF believe that there is a correlation between what we use on our skin, and our mood and the MicroOil definitely helped my mood on the first application, it has a lovely calming but subtle scent and feels beautiful on the skin, it sunk in perfectly and doesn't leave any kind of residue or greasy feeling. I first used the oil as part of my nighttime skincare routine and applied it before bed, it felt so nice on my skin and left me feeling calm and relaxed, which is perfect just before bedtime.

In the morning my skin didn't feel greasy at all, it felt lovely and soft, so much so, I decided to use the oil in my morning skincare routine too.  I wouldn't generally use an oil in my morning skincare routine, it depends on the condition my skin is in, but my skin at the time was very dry and dehydrated and was looking so dull and just not good at all, so I added the oil before my moisturiser and it made such a difference, my skin looked and felt so much better.

The Neuroskinfeeds MicroOil - My Thoughts

The NSF MicroOil is an antioxidant rich oil based on the camelina sativa flower and has a calming effect on both the mind and the skin.

The key ingredients in the NSF MicroOil are:

Camelina sativa seed oil

Camelina sativa seed oil is a strong antioxidant due to its high Vitamin E content, it acts as an anti-inflammatory, calming sensitised skin, whilst adding moisture. It boosts the immune system and is packed with omega-3 fatty acids. It is suitable for all skin conditions.

Plukentia Volubilis seed oil

Plukentia Volubilis seed oil protects against the damaging effects of sun exposure, regulates oil production, maintains elasticity, soothes and prevents inflammation, promotes softness, smoothness, and suppleness and hydrates the skin without clogging the pores. It also helps to reduce the appearance of fine lines and is gentle enough for all skin conditions.

Prunus amygdalus dulcis (sweet almond) oil

Prunus amygdalus dulcis oil is a skin conditioner that helps soften, nourish and hydrate, it adds nutrients including calcium, magnesium, phosphorous, and vitamin E to replenish and reduce dryness in the upper layers of the skin. It helps reduce fine lines, add moisture and relieve itching and also helps to minimise signs of premature ageing and create a glow.

Squalene oil

Squalene oil fights off skin-damaging free radicals which contribute to the signs of ageing, it balances oil production and is an anti-inflammatory that helps with skin conditions such as acne and eczema. It helps to boost blood circulation, promoting the formation of collagen for firmer, plumper skin.

These oils were selected because of their skin benefits and their positive effect on mental wellbeing as they contain ingredients such as tryptophan, a precursor for serotonin. Serotonin is a feel-good hormone and neurotransmitter which helps us deal with stress and feel calm and happy. Omega 3 also reduces inflammation in the brain, which can cause mood shifts, headaches and more.

The MicroOil pipette style dispenser is easy to use, and to apply the MicroOil I press 2- 4 drops into a cleansed face and neck morning and night before I apply my moisturiser, avoiding the eye area. When I first started using the oil, I did have to use a couple more drops than advised, but my skin was extremely dry and dehydrated, so don't worry if you find you need a little more, especially if your skin is super dry like mine.

When I receive or buy a new skincare product, depending on the type of product, I like to try it for a few weeks before giving my opinion on my blog, I feel with skincare, I like to give it time to see results and how my skin looks and feels, and that can't be done in a couple of uses. I felt I needed to try the MicroOil for at least 6 weeks because of the condition my skin was in when I started using it, I have been using it for the last 6-8 weeks now and my skin looks and feels so much better, and I love the calming effect it has too,  it's a definite yes from me!

If you would like to try the MicroOil, you can find it on the Neuroskinfeeds website HERE.

Do you use oil in your skincare routine? Have you tried the MicroOil?
If so what are your thoughts?
