Welcome back,
The weather has definitely gotten colder recently and with the colder climate usually comes cracked, sore and dry lips. So when I was asked if I would like to try out the Blistex Infusions lip care range I didn't need asking twice.
Who Are Blistex?
Blistex was founded in 1947 as a small, family-run company in the business of developing and marketing lip care products, primarily in the United States. The brand existed to create quality products, achieve consistent growth and become an innovative leader in lip care and is now available in over 80 countries worldwide and is today run by the third generation of the founding family.
Blistex Lip Infusions.
The Blistex Lip Infusions were launched a couple of years ago but have recently revamped their packaging to make it more sustainable by removing all plastics and replacing them with sustainably sourced cardboard.
There are 4 different types of the Blistex Infusions, they are:
Hydration
Nourish
Restore
Soothing
Blistex Infusions L-R: Restore, Soothing, Hydration & Nourish
Each of the lip infusions is aimed at a different need and comes in bright coloured packaging which I love. They don't feel sticky or tacky, they are all comfortable to wear and are affordable with prices ranging from £1.99 - £2.99.
Hydration:
Hydration offers 24-hr hydration and has been clinically tested for its long-lasting effects.
- Infused with Hyaluronic spheres to lock in moisture.
- Fortified with Vitamins E & F to soften and smooth.
- Contains SPF 15 to protect against the sun’s harmful UVB rays.
Hydration has a subtle citrus/zesty kind of scent and feels very light but moisturising on the lips, it lasts really well and is brilliant to keep in your handbag or pocket to use throughout the day when needed.
Nourish:
Nourish has been created using nutrient- enriched botanical oils and vitamin E, to deliver concentrated nourishment for luxuriously smooth lips.
- The ceramide enhanced formula helps retain moisture leaving lips supple and smooth.
- With natural beeswax and coconut oil to moisturise and protect lips.
- Contains SPF 15 to protect against the sun’s harmful UVB rays.
Nourish has a sweet scent and feels very nice on the lips, the name speaks for itself, it is nourishing and perfect if your lips are feeling dry or chapped, I love the added SPF too.
Restore:
Another sweet scent and feels lovely on the lips, this is great if your lips have been particularly sore or chapped, as it contains allantoin a natural exfoliator so it smooths them as well as repairing the moisture barrier.
Soothing:
Soothing has been designed to be gentle on lips but tough on dryness.
This has a lovely fresh scent with a hint of fruit, it's lovely and feels so nice on the lips, it's brilliant if your lips are sore as it feels lovely and definitely sooths them but also moisturises them too so is brilliant for dryness. - Infused with Cucumber seed oil and calendula, known for their soothing properties.
- With natural beeswax and coconut oil to moisturise and protect lips.
- Dermatologically approved.
Overall Thoughts & Where To Buy:
I really enjoyed using all 4 of the lip infusions, they all feel very comfortable on the lips, not sticky or tacky, I wore them all under and over lip sticks and all were fine, but my favourite for under lipstick has to be the Soothing lip balm, it is really nice under the matte liquid lipsticks I have that can feel really drying.
All the balms last really well and kept my lips feeling soft and moisturised for a long time before I felt I needed to re apply. I am lucky that I don't suffer from dry or sore lips often but after starting a new medication, my skin including my lips have been dry, and the balms have been brilliant. I thought my girls and Simon would be my guinea pigs and I'd ask them to try these for me, but I have used them all and really like them.
It's hard to pick a favourite as I like them all, but if forced to choose, I think I would go for Nourish, or maybe Soothing, thats 2 but I did say it would be hard to pick one.
Overall, I really liked all of the Blistex Infusions and think they'd be a great addition for the Autumn/Winter months or anytime depending on your preferences. Mine are already ready to go and I will no doubt be making good use out of them over the next few months and under certain lipsticks I have too.
If you suffer from dry, sore or chapped lips and if like me you like to apply a lip balm under a more drying liquid lipstick, give these a whirl, you wont regret it I promise.
You can buy the Blistex Infusions at Boots HERE or Superdrug HERE and also at Sainsbury's HERE, they are also sold in Tesco, Ocado and Morrisons.
Do you suffer from sore, cracked or chapped lips? Have you tried the Blistex Infusions range? If not, do you think you might?
Thank you for reading
