All My Must-Have Picks in One Place: Follow Me on LTK

Welcome back

Today's post is a shameless plug, I was going to apologise for this but then, if I don't plug my own things, who will? So, this is a shameless plug post about my LTK account

LTK stands for Like To Know It, and it's an app and a website where I and lots of other creators (I hate that word almost as much as influencer) share the links from videos, blog posts, or social media posts where we share certain items with you, such as clothing, beauty products, and homeware. Basically, anything I share with you will be on my LTK account.

For example, I post a haul on my Instagram account and put the links to the things I've shared in that haul on my LTK account. I also share other things, such as outfit ideas, gift guides and gift ideas, favourites, and lots more. I share beauty, fashion, homeware, pet supplies, and much more with a direct link to the products.

Below are two examples of a couple of posts I have on my LTK account, these are festive outfit ideas. So, if you like the red jumper in the first photo, you can click the image below the main image, and it'll take you directly to that jumper, so you can buy it if you like. LTK is an affiliate programme, meaning if you do buy anything from my links, I will make a few pence in commission, but it is only pence, I'm not about to become rich from this account.

So, that is my LTK account and what it's all about, I have so many different posts on there, and I share lots of things there that I don't share on any of my other platforms. You can follow me on there too, and if you would like to, that would be very kind and much appreciated. It is hard to build a following on LTK, and I am 10 followers away from 100, so it means a lot to me when I get a new follower.

And all that's left for me to say is, if you would like to check out my LTK account, you can find it HERE and thank you so much in advance if you do.

If you're reading this and already follow me on LTK, thank you so much.

Thanks for reading,

Zoƫ x

NOTD - Nail Of The Day

NOTD - Nail Of The Day

Today I have a NOTD (nail of the day) post for you and NOTD posts are something I haven't done much of this year but something I have been asked for a lot recently. So for those of you who asked, here is a much requested NOTD post, and I promise I am going to have more NOTD posts in 2019, and for anyone else, I really hope you enjoy today's post.

As I've mentioned on here and on Instagram a few times, I used to bite my nails but grew them around 15 years ago and up until a few months ago I hadn't bitten them, then for different reasons, I started to bite them, but, I have been growing them and they are doing ok.  I have broke a few recently, so I need to get them all filed down so they are looking ok, but they'll get there now I have stopped biting them.

Todays NOTD is a gel polish, a DIY gel polish NOTD.  Around two and a half years ago, I received a Sensationail Gel Starter Kit,  and I love it, so do my daughters, it has been used so many times and is still going strong. Both my daughters and I use the kit and we all love it, and between us we have bought and tried many different brands of gel polish but we all agree that for us the Sensationail polishes are the best we've tried.

The shade I used for today's nail of the day is Scarlett Red, I have two different ways of wearing it to share with you today, which you will hopefully like,  and hopefully you will also be able to tell my nails have grown a bit.

NOTD - Nail Of The Day

The Sensationail gel kit is easy to use and gives a salon finish look but in the comfort of your own home, it's absolutely brilliant. I have a full blog review, on the kit for you to read if you would like.

For today's NOTD, I used the Sensationail shade Scarlett Red and applied two coats, it is a lovely red and the shine is absolutely perfect. I usually get around 2 weeks from my Sensationail gel polishes and they are easy to remove too.

Along with wearing the Scarlett Red on it's own, I also like to wear an accent nail, and love to either add a glittery top coat or a full silver sparkly accent nail. The photograph below shows the full silver glitter accent nail, I used Sensationail Silver Glitter on the accent nail, and used two coats.

NOTD - Nail Of The Day

I love to wear the red on it's own but I think the sparkle from the glitter polish it's lovely, especially for this time of year. I also like to use a glitter top coat too, and have a post coming soon where I use that, so keep an eye out if that's something you're interested in seeing.

I love my Sensationail Gel Starter Kit it is so easy to use and my nails look lovely, and it saves money too, a gel manicure at a salon is around £30 but a bottle of Sensationail polish is £15.00 (currently buy one get one half price) in Boots or £12.50 on the Sensationail website (some polishes 20% off at the moment) and they last such a long time, for example, the Scarlett Red shade used in this post, is the same bottle of polish I got in my starter kit and there is still some left, it isn't a full size bottle either, so that shows just how long they last.

And if red isn't your chosen shade, you can also find the starter kits in RaspberryPink Chiffon (pastel pink) and Coral Sunset

I received some new Sensationail polishes as a Christmas gift so once my nails are longer and healthier, I will feature them in a NOTD post, and please excuse how dry my hands look in the second photograph, I suffer from eczema and my skin is extremely dry at the moment, I do have an amazing hand cream but I'd forgot to put any on, typical!!

I really hope you enjoyed my NOTD post, I have more coming in 2019 and I can't wait to share my new polish shades with you too.

Which look did you like best? The red on it's own, or with the silver sparkly accent nail?

Leighton Denny Modern Bohemia Collection Including Swatches

Leighton Denny Modern Bohemia Collection

It's no secret that I love nail polish, if you follow me on Instagram you will often see pics of my painted nails, but sadly, more recently I haven't been painting my nails as much, because unfortunately I reverted back to an old and bad habit of biting them over the last few months.

I am really disappointed in myself even though I know exactly why I've done it and it's a knee jerk reaction to some rather horrible months, but and there's a but, I am back to growing my nails again (yipee) so when I received  a couple of polishes from the brand new Leighton Denny Modern Bohemia collection, I was pleased and it gave me the push to stop nibbling,  and couldn't wait to try them and to share them with you too.

There are 5 shades in the Modern Bohemia collection and all are perfect for Autumn/Winter. The shades in the collection are -

Bohemian Spirit - A soft Grey/Lavender
Dream Catcher - Multi-faceted Burgundy
Electic Vibe - Burnished Green/Gold
Free Spirit - Rose Gold Glitter
Serendipity - Semi-Matte Pink Pearl

All 5 shades are self levelling, chip resistant, high gloss and 5 free, they come in the signature Leighton Denny square bottles and have Modern Bohemia written on the clear part of the lid. The two shades I have are Bohemian Spirit and Free Spirit and I adore them both.

Bohemian Spirit

Bohemian Spirit is described as a soft Grey/Lavender shade, I agree with the shade description totally, sometimes I see shade descriptions and think "woah, really?" but I completely agree with the description of Bohemian Spirit. It is a lovely Grey shade with a tough of a pearlescent Lavender shade, the Lavender shade is subtle and just catches the light,  so don't let that put you off, it just gives a really lovely finish to the polish.

Free Spirit

Leighton Denny Free Spirit

Free Spirit is a lovely clear polish with Rose Gold glitter particles and is a gorgeous polish to apply over any polish to add an accent nail or on all the nails, it can be built up and worn alone also.  I think it looks best over another polish. It would be lovely worn over any polish in the Modern Bohemia collection or whatever polish you would like to apply it over that you have in your nail polish collection.

My Thoughts

I really like both the polishes, Bohemian Spirit is such a lovely shade and absolutely perfect for the autumn/winter months too, it is a gorgeous grey shade and looks lovely worn alone or with the Free Spirit shade over it and I have also worn other glitter top coat shades I own over the top as an accent nail or over all the nails and it looks lovely and gives a really lovely look, NOTD post coming soon.

I love Free Spirit and it is lovely worn over Bohemian Spirit but also looks stunning over deep red, taupe and black shades too, it is also lovely built up and worn alone as an accent nail or on all nails if you're going for a full on sparkly look. It isn't hard to get an even amount of glitter particles when applied either, which some are and if you use glitter top coats or glitter polishes, you'll know what I mean. Some can take some doing and faffing until you have the right amount of glitter on each nail and an even look, but Free Spirit is lovely and applies really well, and in the swatches above, I just painted it on, no faffing required!

Both polishes are lovely, both apply well, and remove easily too, and I get around 5 days wear time from them, sometimes more.

If you would like to try either of the two polishes I have, or any of the other polishes in the collection, you can find them on the M&S website for £12.00 each.

Have you tried any of the Modern Bohemia Polishes? Which is your favourite from the two I have? And what is your favourite autumn/winter nail polish shade?
