A Drugstore Beauty Haul

A Drugstore Beauty Haul

Over the last couple of months I have picked up a few different beauty products from the drugstore, so I thought I'd share with you the things I bought. Some are re purchases and some new to me products, most of the products are from Superdrug, with a couple from Boots and have all been purchased since mid August and are still available.

SUPERDRUG

Superdrug is my favourite highstreet store to buy my beauty products, 99% of the time I shop online at Superdrug which is super easy to navigate and standard delivery is free if you have a health and beauty card and spend over £10.00, which I always do, standard delivery to store is also free but we don't have a local store so I always choose home delivery.

Acetone Free Nourishing Nail Polish Remover - £1.39

Acetone Free Nourishing Nail Polish Remover

Unless I'm removing gel polish, I always use an acetone free nail polish remover, I have bought the Superdrug acetone free polish remover for years but I thought I'd give the nourishing one a try. The acetone free is brilliant and removes polish easily, even glitter so I have high hopes for this, and it will be better for my nails. I actually picked 2 of these up as they were on a buy one get one half price offer, and the good news is, they still are!

Orly Breathable Nail Polish - £11.99

Orly Breathable Nail Polish

I love Orly nail polishes and treatments, I have used them for many years and they are one of my favourite nail polish brands. When I first started to use Orly it was incredibly hard to find in the UK but now it us much easier and I am so pleased that Superdrug now stock Orly, in store and online. The breathable polishes are a new launch from Orly and I picked up the shade Nail Superfood and if you know me well, you won't be surprised by the colour choice. The breathable polishes are a colour and treatment in one plus other added ingredients and are said to have many benefits to the nails, I won't go on too much here as I will be reviewing this polish in a NOTD post soon, so if you're interested in finding out more, keep an eye out for that post.

Naturally Radiant Glycolic Tonic£5.99 (currently half price £2.95)

Superdrug Naturally Radiant Glycolic Tonic

You may have seen my recent post on the Superdrug Glycolic Acid Cleansing Pads, I have been loving them, so when I saw the glycolic tonic, I had to try it. I have used the Pixi Glow Tonic for years and love it so I was intrigued to see if this would be as good or even better as I found with the pads, they are better than the Nip+Fab pads I have previously used for years. The tonic was on a half price offer when I bought it and was £2.95 so I picked 2 up to try, I have been using it since I bought it and will have a full review for you soon.

Maybelline Instant Anti Age Eraser - Brightening - £8.99

Maybelline Instant Anti Age Eraser

I have been meaning to pick this up for a while now, my friend Khila has been using and loving it for a long time and when she first mentioned it, it wasn't available to buy in the UK but it has been for a good while now and I finally picked it up just before I went on holiday back in August. Again I picked 2 up as they were on a buy one get one half price offer and beauty card holders got a further £2.00 off and this offer is actually on at the moment so if you want to try it, now is a good time to do so.

Essie Gel Couture Top Coat £9.99

Essie Gel Couture Top Coat

This is a re purchase and an old photograph as I stupidly didn't take one thinking I wouldn't need to as I already have a review on my blog, how silly am I? But as I said, this is a re purchase,  I have re purchased the top coat a few times now, and it is my favourite top coat, my polish always looks super glossy and lasts for a good amount of time, for example, if I use a Barry M polish without this top coat, it will chip within less than a day but with the top coat I can get 3 to 4 days wear at the very least. It is expensive but worth it as my polish lasts longer and looks lovely and I am always asked if I have gel polish on my nails. It is currently on a buy one get one half price offer at the moment too, so a good time to try.

BOOTS

I must admit, I don't buy many beauty products from Boots anymore because I much prefer Superdrug, but if I can't get the things I want from Superdrug or if I have points to spend or the products are on an offer not available in Superdrug, I will shop in Boots. As with Superdrug, 99% of the time I shop online at Boots, we have a very small store locally which isn't far from where Simon works so I order online and have my order delivered free to the store and Simon collects it for me. I do like that I can order up til around 7pm and my order is in store at lunchtime the following day.

Bourjois Clubbing Waterproof Eye Pencil - £4.99

 Bourjois Clubbing Waterproof Eye Pencil

A couple of months ago, I was watching This Morning and their makeup artist Bryony had a feature about adding colour into your makeup as she said it was going to be the trend for autumn and winter and for spring/summer 2018. I am a neutral gal and always feel I look silly if I use colour but Bryony used a gorgeous blue Marc Jacobs eye pencil under the lower lash line on her model who was a lady in her 40's, she had a neutral eye look and used the pencil under the lower lashes and blended it out with a brush, and it looked beautiful.

Bryony also used a purple pencil in the same way but it was a Bourjois Clubbing eye pencil and she said how good they were. When I was out shopping in Boots a couple of weeks after, I saw the clubbing pencils and it jogged my memory and then I saw the blue and it looked almost identical to the one Bryony used so I picked it up and at the time there was a buy one get one half price offer so I picked up the turquoise shade up too as I have used a similar shade before with a neutral eye look and it looked nice, so I thought I'd be brave and try it. I have actually used the bright blue pencil in the same way Bryony did whilst I was on holiday and Simon and the girls loved it, so I might be brave and re create the look and share it on here, is that something you would be interested in seeing?

Barry M Nail Paint - Bespoke - £2.99

Barry M Nail Paint - Bespoke

This purchase was completely enabled by my lovely friend Shelley, I was recently on FaceTime to Shelley and she was telling me about a new polish she had bought and was wearing, Bespoke by Barry M, I loved the colour and immediately added it to my shopping list in my phone as we were going shopping the following weekend. At the time of writing this post, I haven't tried the polish yet but I hope it looks as nice on my nails as it does on Shelley, it's definitely my kind of nude shade and perfect for this time of year. I will definitely have a NOTD post featuring it once I've tried it out, so keep an eye out if you're interested in that.

Klorane Dry Shampoo With Nettle£8.00

Klorane Dry Shampoo With Nettle

Once again I am a bad blogger and am using an old photograph after doing exactly the same thing with the dry shampoo as I did with the top coat and thinking I wouldn't need a photograph of it as I have already reviewed it on my blog. This is another re purchase, I have re purchased this dry shampoo several times now and it is the best dry shampoo I have ever used, it really is good. It is expensive at £8.00 but I always buy it when it is on offer and it was on a 3 for 2 offer when I picked it up, so I picked up 3, my youngest daughter Lissy also uses this so it's good to stock up then we won't run out. I have tried so many dry shampoo's as my hair is super oily but this is by far the best I've tried, I have several friends who also use it after reading my blog post about it and they all love it too. It is definitely something I will continue to re purchase, I just always make sure I stock up when it's on offer.

And that's the end of my haul, as you can see, I like to take advantage of the offers available but it's a great way of saving money if you want to buy the items anyway. I will as I said have blog posts on the products I picked up and if you would like to see a makeup look using the blue eye pencil, please let me know.

What drugstore beauty products have you picked up recently? Which is your favourite thing out of my haul? And have you tried any of the products I picked up? Let me know in the comments below.
