I'm sure you're aware by now since I've mentioned it shall we say a fair few times that I have dehydrated skin, and because of that my skin can look dull and lacklustre. I do use skin care products to help brighten my skin but I also like a dewy look and a radiant complexion when it comes to my make up and today I have a product from The Body Shop that I've been using to help create a lovely glow to my skin to share with you.
The Body Shop Honey Bronze Highlighting Dome
The Honey Bronze Highlighting Dome is available in 3 shades 01 Golden, 02 Pink and 03 Bronze, I have the shade 01 Golden and it is the perfect shade for my very fair skin tone. The first thing I noticed about the Highlighting Dome was the scent, it smells amazing, it does have a honey scent but it's also floral too and is a lovely fresh scent. The Highlighting Dome is exactly what it says it is, a dome shaped highlight, the packaging is really neat and it's an ideal size to pop in my make up bag and would be ideal for travelling as it's compact, the lid of the packaging is domed too giving a nice effect and the packaging is sturdy and easy to open, there is a screw off lid revealing the product.
The Highlighting Dome can be applied either straight from the packaging, with fingers, a brush or with a makeup sponge it is entirely up to you, I prefer to apply it using a stippling type brush or using my fingers or my makeup sponge, if I'm using a brush I take some product onto my brush and blend it onto my cheekbones with the brush to give a lovely glow, the Highlighting Dome is also beautiful worn on the eyes and for a quick and easy makeup look I apply some of the highlight to my eye lids with my ring finger and either blend with my finger or buff the edges with a brush, it looks lovely and is super quick to do.
Layered Product
Blended Out
In the swatch photographs above the top swatch photograph shows the product layered to show you the shade of the highlight and then in the above swatch photograph the highlight is blended out, as you can see it leaves a beautiful soft golden shimmer to the skin, the highlight is a little glittery and usually I never go for a glitter highlight but the Highlighting Dome is really pretty and although it does contain glitter it doesn't leave that glitter ball effect that some really glittery highlights do, it is a really pretty highlight.
I have been wearing the Highlighting Dome with a matte blush in a neutral shade, it looks lovely and gives my skin a gorgeous glow, it's a really pretty product. As I said the highlight also looks beautiful when used on the eyes and can be layered up to give more colour or just swept over the lids for a lovely golden glow it's a really simple look but one that looks so pretty, I like to wear it with some black liner and lots of mascara and a red lip it looks lovely.
I am really pleased with the Highlighting Dome, it is a beautiful product that applies effortlessly and gives a lovely glow to my skin that lasts all day. If you would like to try the Highlighting Dome, you can find it on The Body Shop website here for £8.00.
Thank you for reading, much love as always,
