My skin has always been dry and dehydrated but over the last few months it has got a lot worse and has become a real nightmare, so much so that I am struggling to wear any sort of foundation or base at all and despite having a morning and evening skin care routine and using overnight treatments whenever I apply foundation or a BB cream/tinted moisturiser it will cling to the very dry patches on my face and just look awful in general and it has really been getting me down.
You may have seen in my recent spring beauty haul post (see that post here) that I picked up the Pixi Glow Mist after seeing the lovely Beautylymin talk about the Pixi skincare on her blog, which you can read here. I have been using the Pixi Glow Mist for around 3 weeks now and wanted to share my thoughts on it with you.
What Pixi Says About The Glow Mist
Nourish skin with the Pixi Glow Mist, a lightweight spray to hydrate the face and neck. Enriched with thirteen natural oils, its unique formula contains aloe vera and fruit extracts to soothe and heal skin for a smoother complexion. Propolis and argan oil help to repair and intensely condition skin, without stripping moisture.
Before makeup: hydrates, protects & nourishes.
After makeup: sets makeup, adds a dewy finish and protects skin.
Anytime: refreshes makeup, hydrates and adds glow.
I have been using the Pixi Glow Mist before applying my make up, I use my morning skin care routine followed by the Smashbox hydrating primer, I then spritz my face with the Pixi Glow Mist and apply my makeup as normal. I shake the mist before use, it contains oils, it isn't bi phase as such but the oil does separate so it needs shaking before use. I really like packaging, the Glow Mist sprays a fine mist of product which applies evenly over the skin which is brilliant, some makeup/setting sprays can spray out at force leaving my face wet through but it isn't like that at all, it sprays a nice fine even mist.
The first time I used the Glow Mist I used a medium coverage foundation and I couldn't believe the difference in the way my skin and makeup looked, the foundation hadn't clung to the driest patches of my skin and my base looked so much better. I have used the Glow Mist since with different foundations I own, some with a light coverage and some full coverage and it is amazing, none of my foundations have clung to my driest patches which they always did before using the Glow Mist, my driest patches are in between my eyes and on my forehead and before using the Glow Mist my foundation or any base I used would cling to those areas really badly and look awful and my skin looked terrible in general, I hated wearing any kind of base, it was an awful situation and one that knocked my confidence a lot.
I am so impressed with the Pixi Glow Mist, my foundation looks nice now and applies really well over the top of the Glow Mist, I haven't used the mist throughout the day to hydrate my skin but I have used it after I have applied my makeup and it gave me a nice dewy glow but I do prefer to use it before I apply my makeup as it does such a fantastic job of hydrating my skin before I apply my makeup. I only need to use a small amount of the mist, using 2 pumps each time I use it, so I imagine it will last me a long time.
If you have dry skin and find that your foundation or whatever base you use looks terrible and clings to dry patches of your skin, I would highly recommend you try this, it has completely changed the way my makeup looks and improved my confidence when I wear makeup, it's a brilliant product and I can't praise it enough.
