Hello Lovelies
You have probably seen the Stila Magnificent Metals Glitter & Glow Liquid Eyeshadows popping up on blogs and social media for the last couple of months now, they have caused quite a stir and there is huge hype surrounding them, and to be fair there is no denying that seeing a photograph of them gives an instant feeling of "I really need those in my life" and I felt exactly like that after seeing them for the first time. I was lucky and got 2 shades for my birthday and then I purchased a 3rd shade when ASOS had a 20% off discount code so I now own 3 shades and have been trying them out for the last couple of months and today I am going to let you know if I think they are worth they hype.

My Thoughts, Application & Swatches
The shades I have are Kitten Karma, Rose Gold Retro and Smoky Storm. I haven't ever used a liquid eyeshadow before so the concept was totally new to me and although the swatches I'd seen looked amazing, I wasn't sure how I'd get on with the formula. The packaging is lovely, it is square in shape with a clear part showing the liquid shadow and a matte gold with gold lettering with the Stila logo on the clear part, the applicator is quite a short wand with a thin paddle type applicator.
Kitten Karma - £23.00
Kitten Karma is a lovely warm peachy shade, out of all 3 shades Kitten Karma has the chunkiest glitter formula although it isn't exactly chunky it just feels like it has more particles than the other shades I have. It is stunning and looks so nice with a neutral matte shade in the crease and under the lower lash line and Kitten Karma all over the lid.
Rose Gold Retro - £23.00
Rose Gold Retro is a beautiful warm coppery shade and looks stunning with a warm matte shadow blended into the crease and under the lower lash line, I also like to wear it with a dark brown crease colour using a mid brown as my transition shade. Rose Gold Retro feels smooth in texture, but is very sparkly.
Smoky Storm - £23.00
Smoky Storm is a warm mid brown with a gold look to it, again it is smoother in texture than Kitten Karma but not as smooth as Rose Gold Retro, I like to wear this with a dark brown in my crease using a mid brown as a transition shade, I also take the dark brown under my lower lash line.
Before I apply the shadows I use my MAC Painterly Paint Pot as a base, I always use a base because my eyelids are super oily. I apply the liquid eyeshadow by taking a flat shadow brush and taking some of the product off the wand and applying it to my eye with the flat shader brush. I then use a fluffy brush to tidy up the crease area and just to neaten everything up. I have used all 3 shades using the applicator and applying the shadow straight to my eye but I prefer to use a brush, I think just because that's what I am used to, using the applicator is absolutely fine.
All 3 shades apply with ease and aren't messy at all, I was afraid they would be difficult to apply and would smudge everywhere, but they don't at all and are super easy to apply. I have experienced the tiniest amount of fallout with all 3 shades, it's hardly worth mentioning because it is so minimal and is easily removed with a cotton bud. I haven't experienced any creasing at all, nor have I experienced any fading or wearing away, once applied these are going nowhere. The longest I have worn one of the liquid eyeshadows is 12.5 hours and it looked exactly as when I first applied it, when I removed it, they remove easily with any makeup remover or cleanser.
Swatches
I adore the liquid eyeshadows and honestly cannot think of a bad thing to say about them, they all look amazing on and every time I wear them I am asked what eye make up I am wearing and I receive more compliments when I'm wearing these than with any other eyeshadow I own. I have even had to write down the name and shade for a sales assistant in Primark because she loved it so much. Using glitter can be a real pain and very messy too, but these are perfect for a stunning sparkly look that can be worn both during the day and for an evening look without any mess and I cannot recommend them highly enough.
