Boots No7 Beautiful Skin Face Wipes - Worth The Hype?

Boots No7 Beautiful Skin Face Wipes - Worth The Hype?

Hello Lovelies,

I was recently buying some much needed things for our summer holiday from Boots and when I paid for my items the sales assistant gave me a No7 voucher with a £5 off skin care and a £3 off make up on it,  I usually give these to my mum when I get them but this time I decided to use the £5 one to try out a product I've never tried before and one that is extremely hyped up in the world of blogging/vlogging, the No7 Beautiful Skin Quick Thinking Wipes

I have heard numerous bloggers and vloggers speak about these wipes over the years but I have never ever tried them myself, I don't use make up wipes to remove my make up I use them for when I'm swatching products for a blog post or when I'm applying make up and use the back of my hand for foundation or to mix lipsticks etc, I usually buy the cucumber face wipes from Boots they're great and do the job for just £1.50 for 25 wipes, but after hearing so much about the No7 wipes and never trying them I thought it was about time I did.

The wipes come in a pack of 30 for £7.00 (currently 3 for 2) but as I said I had a £5 voucher so I paid £2 for the pack of wipes I purchased. As a rule I don't ever use make up wipes of any kind on my face and follow the lead of Caroline Hirons where wipes are concerned, she says they should only ever be used for the 3 "F's" and those are in her words "fannies, festivals and flights" and I have to agree with her, wipes aren't good for my skin, they dry it out and some I've tried have stung, but in an absolute emergency they're ok as a once in a while item.

What No7 Say About The Wipes

No7 Beautiful Skin Quick Thinking Wipes are suitable for all skin types and remove even waterproof mascara.
Specially created for when you're short of time, these gentle, fragrance free wipes sweep away impurities and remove all traces of make-up, even waterproof mascara.
With pro-vitamin B5 to moisturise and soften, plus extracts of witch hazel and fennel to clear pores and leave your skin feeling smooth and fresh.
My Thoughts

When I first used the No7 wipes I used them to remove a couple of swatches of a drugstore lipstick I'd taken photographs of for my blog and then to remove foundation from the back of my hand when applying make up and I found they did the job and the make up removed with ease, I noticed a slight scent despite No7 claiming the wipes to be "fragrance free" but it wasn't strong or offensive and didn't bother me. I decided I'd try the wipes out and review them on my blog meaning I would have to use them on my face, I thought the best test would be when I was wearing what I call a full face of make up, foundation, concealer, powder, blush, eye shadow, mascara and lipstick. I had high hopes for the wipes after hearing so many rave reviews over the years so when I took a wipe out of the pack I felt quite excited to use it to remove my make up, I wiped my face with the wipe using one side and then the other and yes some of my make up came off, but not all of it and I needed to use 3 of the wipes to clear my whole face  and I wasn't blown away at all, I had to pay close attention to my mascara to remove it and being a non waterproof product I didn't think I would have to.

I decided to ask both my daughters if they would also try out the wipes to remove their make up so I could ask their opinions on the wipes also, my eldest daughter Cole is a make up artist and wears a full face of make up for work each day and my youngest daughter Lissy wears make up most days too however she doesn't wear foundation just a little concealer under her eyes .She uses the Anastasia Beverly Hills Dip Brow Pomade to fill in her eyebrows which is a waterproof cream product. When they used the wipes both Cole and Lissy were of exactly the same opinion as me, Cole used 4 wipes to remove her make up and she said she was really unimpressed and Lissy said the wipes were terrible at removing the dip brow she uses on her brows, she also used 3 wipes despite not wearing any foundation.

Overall Thoughts & Would I Re Purchase?

I really wanted to love the No7 wipes, I'd heard so much about them over the years and thought they were going to be amazing, I had visions of me typing this post and telling you how amazing they were and how I loved them etc etc but unfortunately my experience of using the wipes wasn't great, for using when I'm taking photographs of make up swatches for my blog or when I've put foundation on the back of my hand I think the wipes are fine but as far as removing my make up I think they are basically just a mediocre face wipe, the same as a lot of other much cheaper face wipes.

In the past I've tried numerous different face wipes and all much cheaper than the No7 ones apart from the MAC Wipes which I have to say are incredible but also extremely expensive, but most of the cheaper brands of face wipes have been much better than the No7 ones including the cucumber ones which are £5.50 cheaper and 50p cheaper when using the £5 voucher.

I honestly do not understand the hype surrounding the No7 face wipes and I can't help thinking that it is just that, hype and nothing else, they aren't anything special at all in my opinion, they were ok at removing my make up but nothing special by any stretch of the imagination and I will not be re purchasing the wipes because I can find cheaper make up removing wipes that do a much better job,  but if you'd like to give them a try you can find them here for £7.00 currently on a 3 for 2 promotion, I would definitely advise you wait for the £5 off vouchers though.

Have you tried the No7 Beautiful Skin Face Wipes? Did you love them too or were you like me and left feeling disappointed? Let me know in the comments and I will reply as always, as soon as possible.

Thank you for reading, much love as always,

Zoe x
