This year when it came to choosing brands to share in my Christmas Gift Ideas posts, I wanted to feature new and small businesses because 2020 has hit so many businesses hard due to the pandemic, and I wanted to try and help in any way at all. So when the lovely Diane from Bowe Organics contacted me, and I read all about her business, I immediately said I would love to feature her products in my Christmas gift ideas posts.
About Bowe Organics
Bowe Organics was founded by Diane Bowe, a freelance hairdresser living in London. She stumbled into the world of Organic beauty when she started to use organic colours and products for her hairdressing back in 2012.
This is where her passion-fuelled journey began. She wanted to fully understand the true power of nature and all the benefits it could provide, and on the flip side, wanted to understand about all the toxic and harmful chemicals found in most products.
After years of researching and trying different blends of botanical ingredients, Diane has started to create her luxury, artisan, effective brand for the world to love and cherish as much as she does.
What Bowe Say About Bowe
At BOWE ORGANICS we believe the quality of our ingredients are just as important as our specially thought out formulations. We use TRACEABLE ORGANIC ingredients where possible and all other ingredients comply with organic standards.
We want to make sure we are using truly ETHICALLY SOURCED ingredients from farms that feel supported rather than exploited. This is an important factor for Bowe Organics.
We are also against animal cruelty and we are a member of THE VEGAN SOCIETY. We passionately care about every bottle that is made and all products have been specially formulated and blended by Diane personally.
We DO NOT use third party manufacturers or off-the-shelf bases like other brands on the market. Each product is handmade in small batches to ensure the HIGHEST level of care and quality.
Products
The products I was kindly sent to feature in my Christmas Gift Ideas post are The Gift Of Brows And Lashes and The Gift Of Lips And Lashes, both gifts sets come in lovely sleek packaging and the product packaging is sleek and classic too.
The Gift Of Brows And Lashes £35.00
I was so excited to try both these products because my brows and lashes are only what I could describe as pathetic. They just don't grow, it doesn't help that they are naturally blonde so not very visible, but the fact that they are sparse makes things even worse.
Brow Oil
The brow oil is perfect if you have ever overplucked your brows, or if you would just like more definition to your brows. The brow oil is made from quality organic, natural ingredients which have all been ethically sourced including castor oil which is famously known to help thicken and straighten hair, and black seed oil which is known for its beauty benefits in ancient Egypt which is a brilliant ingredient to aid in the growth of your brows.
To apply the brow oil, apply a couple of drops to clean fingers and massage into the brows, taking care not to get any in your eyes, you can also use an old, clean mascara wand to brush the oil through your brows if you have one.
I really like this product, it is so easy to use and I don't wake up feeling oily around my brows, the scent is nice and subtle and isn't overpowering at all. I apply a couple of drops at night time to my brows, I then brush them through with a disposable mascara wand, having a daughter who is a makeup artist definitely comes in handy when I need disposable mascara wands.
I have been using the brow oil for around 4 weeks now, so not really long enough to notice any great difference, but I do think my brows look better when I have used my brow product and I don't seem to be taking as long to fill them in, so there is some improvement, I will be back to let you know how I'm getting on though.
Lash Oil
The lash oil is an award winning product for anyone who wants beautiful hydrated lashes, it is made using the highest quality organic ingredients which can help thicken and lengthen the lashes.
To apply the lash oil, apply a couple of drops to clean fingers and massage the lashes, taking care not to get it in the eyes, the lash oil is best applied at night time before bed.
As with the brow oil, I love the lash oil too, it is lovely to massage in before bed and is relaxing too, it is also really good if I have waterproof mascara that I can't shift with cleanser, it just rubs away and my daughter has tried it to remove false lash glue from her lashes and also thinks it's brilliant. I don't have any oily residue in the morning either, it's a really lovely product and one I am glad I have incorporated into my night time beauty regime.
The Gift Of Lips And Lashes £25.00
The lips and lashes gift set is such a lovely set, it contains the lash oil I mentioned above, plus the Lip Rescue Balm which is a lovely product.
Lip Rescue Balm
The lip rescue balm helps to keep the lips moisturised and cares for your lips without using any toxic chemicals. It contains Raspberry Seed Oil which is known for its anti-ageing properties, Shea and Cocoa Butter to help keep the lips hydrated and protected and Almond Oil to rejuvenate.
The lip balms are hand poured so they can be a little imperfect when you first open them (mine wasn't) but that doesn't have any effect at all on the product or the amazing results you get from it.
To apply the lip balm, simply massage into dry chapped lips for relief and nourishment, it can be used as often as needed.
I am very lucky that I don't really suffer from dry or chapped/sore lips, I'm not sure why maybe because I don't get out much? Or I'm just lucky? But I don't tend to suffer, I do like to use lip balm though, especially under a matte lipstick or liquid lipstick and I like to apply it at night before bed. This lovely little pot of lip balm has lived next to my bed since it arrived, alongside the lash and brow oils and I apply it at bedtime as I do with the lash and brow oils.
I have also used the balm under my matte lip products and it makes such a difference to how they feel and wear, it's a really lovely product and for someone who doesn't use lip balm, I've been using daily since I got it.
Overall Thoughts
I am really happy I have been able to try the products from Bowe Organics, there isn't a product I don't like or can find any negatives with.
The products arrived packaged well and look really nice and would be lovely if you wanted to send directly to someone as a gift, rather than it coming to you and then you sending it on. The packaging of the products is lovely too, sleek and classy looking.
I really love the story behind Bowe Organics and the fact that Diane makes everything herself here in the UK. It is brilliant that her products are vegan and Bowe Organics is registered with the Vegan Society too and something very important to a lot of people.
Another thing I loved is that the box and inserts are completely recyclable.
Since I received the brow and lash oils and the lip balm, Diane has introduced another product to her range, the Versatile Hair Oil which comes in both fragranced and fragrance free.
I think any of the Bowe Organics products or gift sets would make really lovely gifts for someone this Christmas or for yourself too, after all, you need a treat after all the stresses of Christmas shopping and wrapping etc etc.
It's a definite 10 out of 10 from me, and I can't wait to see what other products Diane adds to her range, she is a lovely, genuine lady and I wish her all the best.
