Favourite Beauty Products Of 2015 - Eye Products

Hello Lovelies

Today I have the second of my 2015 beauty favourites posts, last weeks post was my favourite base products of 2015 which you can read here if you would like to see which base products made my 2015 favourites, but today's post is my favourite eye products of 2015, it is so hard narrowing down products for annual favourites posts, I like to include my most used items and any stand out items I may have, so without further ado here are my favourite eye products of 2015.

Bases

The first product I want to mention is one I actually completely forgot to mention in my 2015 favourite base products post so I hope you don't mind but I am sneaking it into this post, the product is the Bobbi Brown Corrector in the shade light to medium bisque, I use the corrector before my concealer and apply it using my ring finger to pat it on and then my beauty blender or a fluffy brush to blend it in. It's an amazing product and great for dark circles, I have a full review post here if you would like to read a more in depth review and see swatches. Mine is looking a bit worse for wear but I have used it every time I apply my make up since I got it in the summer and this is how it looks now, as you can see I haven't made a dent in it, a little product goes a long way. It is incredible and I highly recommend it and if you would like to pick it up, you can find it on the House of Fraser website HERE for £19.00.

The Nars Smudgeproof Eyeshadow Base is an eyeshadow base I have used for many years now and it's an incredible product, a tiny amount goes a long way meaning a tube of this will last you absolutely ages, plus a handy tip is to remove the plastic bung in the top once you think it's coming to an end, I got around 8 months more product out of my old one doing that. It's a great base, it blends into the lids effortlessly and is fantastic if like me you have oily lids and your eyeshadow creases, my eyeshadow does not move or crease at all when I use it and I can't recommend it enough it's a brilliant product, if you wear coloured shadows this is also amazing and makes a huge difference to the way coloured shadows look. I have a full review here but if you'd like to try it you can find it on the Look Fantastic website HERE for £19.50 including delivery.

The MAC paint pot in Painterly is a product I have used for so many years now and have re purchased countless times, it's a fantastic product and can be used as a base for both powder and cream eye products or alone for a simple eye look, but I also use it around my lips to stop lip products bleeding when I don't have the correct shade of lip liner. It's a brilliant product and one I highly recommend, it lasts forever but I do recommend storing it upside down to stop it from drying out however I haven't ever had a MAC paint pot dry out and have been using them for many years. I do have a full review of Painterly here if you'd like to find out more or see swatches or if you would like to buy it you can find it on the House Of Fraser website HERE for £16.00.

Last but by no means least is the Maybelline Colour Tattoo in Creme De Rose, I love colour tattoo's and this does also represent all of the Maybelline colour tattoo's which definitely are in my favourites of 2015 but rather than show my collection of colour tattoo's I will just show this one, but they are a brilliant product and one I will continue to re purchase and before I bought creme de rose I had always used colour tattoo's as a creme eye shadow but I love creme de rose as a base and last year I compared the Maybelline colour tattoo in creme de rose to the MAC paint pot in painterly, I do have a full blog post showing my findings here which includes swatches of both and a review of the colour tattoo should you wish to read it. If you are looking for an affordable base I would recommend the creme de rose colour tattoo, you can find it in store at Boots for £4.99, unfortunately there isn't an online link available.

Palettes

My MAC Quad

Favourite Beauty Products Of 2015 - Eye Products

I love my MAC quad, it contains the shadows Wedge, Mystery, Blanc Type and Omega and is one of my most used palettes of 2015, I use Omega as an eyeshadow but I also fill my brows in with it, it is a fantastic brow colour if you are blonde and I have been using mine for over 2 years and as you can see there is a lot of product left. I use Wedge as a transition shade and it is perfect and also lovely under the lower lash line, it's a lovely shade and also looks great all over the lid and blended up towards the crease, Mystery is a lovely deep chocolate brown and is great to deepen the crease and under the lower or above the upper lash line and Blanc Type which is probably my favourite MAC eye shadow and is certainly my most used for the last few years, it's a gorgeous cream shade and perfect for all over the lid but also as an under the brow bone highlight and to highlight the inner corner of the eye, all 4 shades are matte and are my most used MAC shades, I highly recommend them all, they are all brilliant neutral matte shades and can be used altogether or separately, they all apply well and blend beautifully and all are highly pigmented, you can find them in pan refill form on line on the MAC website HERE for £10.00 each and the empty quad palette is available on the MAC website HERE for £5.00.

Next up is the MACnificient Me times nine palette which was part of a limited edition MAC collection in September/October 2015, it is a stunning palette and sold out in seconds which doesn't surprise me. I use this palette so much and since I got it I haven't used anything else, my favourite shades to use are Pleasing To The Eye which I use as a transition shade, Cool Compliment which I use to deepen the crease and under the lower lash line, MACnificent Me which I use all over the lid and In My Element which I use all over the lid but I love all the shades they all apply well and blend beautifully and all the shades are extremely pigmented. I cannot find a bad thing to say about this palette other than it is such a shame it was limited edition as it's stunning. I have always thought the times nine palettes would be pointless but after using this one constantly for the last few months I no longer think that and would like to try more of them as they are brilliant for keeping in my make up bag, they are the size of a MAC quad palette so the eye shadows are smaller than the regular pan eye shadows, I'd say they are roughly the size of a 5 pence piece but I have used this for around 4 months and not hit pan on any of the shadows as yet. The times nine palettes are available in the permanent range in 4 different shade ranges Amber, Purple, Burgundy and Navy and they are all stunning, you can find them on the MAC website HERE (Amber) HERE (Burgundy) HERE (Purple) and HERE (Navy) for £30.00 each palette. I am considering writing a full review including swatches on my MACnificent me palette and also featuring alternative shades to those in the palette, so if you would like to see that post please let me know as I have found shades which are great alternatives so all is not lost that it is a limited edition palette.

And last but not least is the Urban Decay Naked Basics 2 palette, I received this for Christmas 2014 and used it a lot throughout 2015, it is a really handy little palette and is tiny so fits into the smallest of make up bags, I love that all apart from one shade are matte as I love matte shadows and I can create several looks from the palette. My favourite shadows are Skimp, Frisk and Cover but all the shadows are nice and highly pigmented. The one thing I don't like about Urban Decay shadows is the fallout, they do fall down quite badly so I always have to do my base last when I use this palette but it isn't a problem or something that puts me off using it but it is worth mentioning. If you like matte shadows and neutral eye looks this is a great palette, you can find it on the Feel Unique website HERE for £20.70 (currently on sale and was £23.00).

Eyeshadow Pencils

Favourite Beauty Products Of 2015 - Eye Products

For Christmas 2014 I received 2 of the Charlotte Tilbury Colour Chameleon Eye Shadow Pencils and I was thrilled, putting them in my 2015 favourites is a bit of a strange one because I love them and they are favourite products of mine that I used in 2015 but I also don't use them as much as I'd like to because every time I use them I have to sharpen them and they are wearing down at an alarming rate, my daughter also has 2 in different shades and she said the exact same thing when I asked her about hers. They are a fabulous product and so easy to use, I take the paler colour (champagne diamonds) all over the lid and blend the edges and then use the darker shade (dark pearl) on the outer edge and blend it up into my crease and under my lower lash line so I am not using a great deal of product, or so you'd think but every time I use them I have to sharpen them afterwards meaning they are now half the size they were and I have used them less than 10 times and in my opinion something that sells for £19.00 each should last longer than that, so yes these are favourites of mine and they are beautiful products that are amazing to apply and blend beautifully and they look stunning too, I have a blog post showing swatches and a make up look I created using the colour chameleon eyeshadow pencils which you can read here. I do adore these pencils and they are incredible to use and wear, the shades I have are stunning and look beautiful and are excellent if you don't want to spend a lot of time or effort applying your make up but I can't not mention the fact that they need sharpening after every use and will not last very long if you use them a lot but they are in my favourites because they are stunning shades, they apply beautifully and blend effortlessly and they look stunning it's just a shame about the sharpening. Below is a photograph of the pencils after I've used them, they were newly sharpened before I used them so as you can see I would have to sharpen them to use them again, the champagne diamonds is practically blunt and the dark pearl is too blunt to apply under my lower lash line or get any precision at all.

Lashes

Favourite Beauty Products Of 2015 - Eye Products

The first lash product in my 2015 favourites is the Estee Lauder Little Black Primer I received this as a gift and had I not I probably wouldn't have bought it thinking it was a gimmick type product, however it is far from a gimmick product and one I love and have used constantly throughout 2015 and continue to use which also shows it is a long lasting product since I've had it for 11 months now.

The wand is a curved wand making it easy to apply and to coat the lashes in the corners of the eye, the Little Black Primer can be used 3 ways, as a lash tint to colour and lift bare lashes, as a primer for volume, lift and length and to wear over mascara as a long wearing water resistant top coat that helps to reduce smudging and flaking. I use the LBP all 3 ways and love it, it's great for no make up days when I just want a little something, my lashes are pathetic and this gives my bare lashes some colour and lift, but I use it the most as a primer under mascara or over the top to give a non waterproof mascara a water proof coating. I struggle with mascara smudging or blobbing as I call it onto my socket bone, water proof mascaras are usually best for me but sometimes I find a non waterproof mascara and really like it but can't use it because it will blob/smudge but if I use the LBP over the top of a non waterproof mascara it's fantastic because it means I can wear any mascara I like and it won't smudge/blob. If I do use a mascara I love that I know won't blob I use the LBP under it as a primer and it gives me amazing volume to my lashes, I love the Little Black Primer and have a full review of it on my blog here, I highly recommend it and if you would like to try it, you can find it on the Feel Unique website HERE for £20.00.

A mascara I loved throughout 2015 is the Maybelline Lash Sensational mascara, I have used both the non waterproof and waterproof and love them both, I use the Little Black Primer with the non waterproof, it is a fantastic mascara and has to be the best drugstore mascara I have tried, it gives my lashes amazing volume and length and fans them out nicely, I do have a full review on my blog which you can find here which shows before and after photographs. I highly recommend the lash sensational it's a fabulous product and gives many high end mascaras a run for their money. If you haven't tried the lash sensational mascara and want to, you can find it on the Superdrug website HERE for £7.99.

Favourite Beauty Products Of 2015 - Eye Products

The last lash product that made my favourites of 2015 is the Estee Lauder Sumptuous Infinite Daring Length & Volume mascara, I got a sample of this with my Little Black Primer and started to use the sample in the summer, the first time I used it someone asked me if I was wearing false eye lashes which for me is a huge compliment because my lashes are ridiculously short and stubby and because I'm fair you can barely see them. After using the sample up I purchased a full size of the mascara which is rare for me because I wouldn't usually buy high end mascaras but I was so blown away by the results of the sample I wanted to get the full size. The packaging is a navy blue metal with gold writing on and I love it it's classy and feels luxurious, the wand is a long thin rubber wand with short bristles which reach into the corners of the eye, I really love this mascara and would highly recommend it, it is well worth the money and I will re purchase it, despite it not being waterproof it never smudges and it doesn't flake either. To add extra oomph I use the little black primer underneath but it doesn't need it if you don't have it, if you would like to read my full review you can find it here and if you would like to buy the mascara it is available on the Feel Unique website HERE for £17.85 currently reduced from £21.00.

Other Products Worth Mentioning

I have a couple of other products in my 2015 favourites, the first is an eyeliner, now you may be thinking "what is so odd about an eyeliner in a eye products favourites post" but I don't ever really wear eyeliner so for me to include one in my favourites is quite a big deal. I have hooded eyes so winged liner isn't something I really ever do but in 2015 I found a way to add some depth to my upper lash line and almost add a "wing" without applying winged liner as such and to do that I used the Maybelline lasting drama 24 hour gel eyeliner pencil in black.

Favourite Beauty Products Of 2015 - Eye Products

I use the eyeliner to line my upper waterline and I feather it through my upper lashes too to give my some depth and I have also realised that if I use it in this way I can add a small wing to the outer corner and it appears as if I am wearing winged liner which with hooded eyes is impossible. I don't use the eyeliner every time I wear make up but it's a great product and if you're looking for an eye liner that stays in place and doesn't transfer from the upper to lower waterline or smudge, it's a great product. I do have a full review of the liner on my blog here which includes swatches and a more in depth review, and if you would like to try the liner you can find it in store at Boots and Superdrug, unfortunately I can't find a direct link to it.

The last eye product in my 2015 favourites is Wunderbrow, Wunderbrow is a fairly new product which launched in 2015 and is available at Boots. It is a brow product as you'd guess from the name and I'd never tried a product like it before, it comes in various different shades but I use blonde, it comes with a spoolie and has a brush to apply, it does take a little getting used to if you haven't ever used a product like it before but once I'd got used to it I loved it. It's a gel like product that I apply with an angled brush as I couldn't get the hang of using the brush provided, I brush through my brows with the spoolie provided once I've used it and my brows stay in place all day and look lovely. I have a blog post on the Wunderbrow here and if you would like to read it, you can find it on the Boots website HERE for £19.95.
