New In From Superdrug

New In From Superdrug

Winter is definitely here, and it is absolutely freezing, as I type this, the heating is on, as are my fluffy bear socks, but along with the central heating and fluffy socks, winter brings out the worst in my skin. My skin is extremely dry and de hydrated and winter plays havoc with it. As part of my skincare routine, I use face masks, I have been using the triple face mask method for around 6 years now on a weekly basis and more recently I have been multi masking and using masks in my routine much more.

When I received the brand new face masks from Superdrug which launched instore and online recently, I couldn't wait to give them a try. There are 6 masks in the range, they are -

* Coffee - An amazing blend to help add a burst of refreshing vitality to your skincare routine.
* Kale - A superfood mask to add a burst of vitamin goodness.
* Coconut - A creamy tropical cocktail for an exotic treat.
* Charcoal - A mud mask with charcoal for a burst of purifying goodness.
* Blueberry Jam - A jammy creation with sugar scrub particles to refresh the skin.
* Avocado & Oat - Oaty scrub and avo adds a burst of goodness to the skin.

The masks I have are Charcoal, Blueberry Jam and Avocado & Oat and apart from the Charcoal mask they smell good enough to eat.

The face masks come in a tub with a pull off lid and have a cardboard sleeve around the tub, they have a use by date of 6 months once opened and they have a natural look and feel about them, and although they aren't 100% natural, they do contain several natural extracts, are vegan, paraben free, and like every single product in the Superdrug beauty collection, they are certified by Cruelty Free International.

Charcoal

I like to use a charcoal mask but the scent of them can sometimes put me off, however this is the best smelling charcoal face mask I have used. I'm not the best at describing scents but it has a fruity scent to it. It spreads easily onto the skin and dries quite fast, I leave it on for around 10 minutes and then use a flannel (face cloth) run under hand hot water to wipe the mask away. I like using a charcoal mask to thoroughly cleanse my skin and this does just that and my skin is left feeling soft and clean.

Blueberry Jam

New In From Superdrug Blueberry Jam Face Mask

This is the strangest texture mask I have ever used and is just like smearing jam all over your face. When I first used it, I really didn't think I would like it, as it felt so strange but I am used to it now and it is amazing. I use a brush to apply my face masks but made sure I used my fingers and a brush when trying all 3 masks out for the first time, so it was a fair test. The blueberry jam mask is sticky as you would imagine and smells as lovely as you would imagine too, it is a little more tricky than they others to apply due to it's texture but don't let that put you off as it is an incredible mask and fabulous for exfoliating the skin. I have very dry skin and this is brilliant at removing those dead skin cells and giving me refreshed and brighter looking skin.

Avocado & Oat

The first thing I noticed about this mask was the play on words or pun on the box, it says it is t(oat)ally marvellous, things like that draw me in, I suppose I am easily pleased. This mask felt a little strange to apply at first, but nothing that puts me off, it smells lovely and fresh and leaves my skin feeling really nice and fresh too, I like to use this one in the morning after cleansing, I find it really wakes me up and my skin feels amazing after using it.

Overall Thoughts

Up until trying the Superdrug face masks, I was yet to be disappointed by one of their skincare products and my feelings remain the same since using the 3 masks for the last few weeks, they are all fabulous products and my skin looks and feels so much better for me using them. I use all the masks in the same way, I apply them to my skin, avoiding the eye area, leave for 10 minutes and remove with a flannel which I have run under hand hot water and wrung out, then I wipe away the mask with the flannel. I use the masks alone or as part of a triple mask routine once a week, where I use the Charcoal, Blueberry Jam and lastly the Avocado & Oat and my skin looks bright and radiant, plus it feels absolutely incredible afterwards. I don't have a favourite, I suppose you could say they are all my favourite,  as they are all amazing in their own right and help my skin in different ways.

I can't believe they are priced at £4.99 too, it is such a good price for such outstanding products, I have been using face masks regularly as I said for around 6 years now but have always used face masks over the years, starting when I was around 13 with an Avon peel off so I have used a lot of masks over the years but these really are some of the best I have tried, they certainly give the higher end masks in my collection a run for their money.

I will 100% be repurchasing all 3 of the masks and am going to give the others in the range a try too, if they're as good as these, they'll be amazing, if you haven't already tried these, then you really should, you won't be disappointed.

You can find the full range of masks instore and online at Superdrug here priced at £4.99.

Have you tried the Superdrug face masks? If so which is your favourite and if not which do you like the look of?
