Hello Lovelies
I've recently been trying out some makeup products by the brand W7 and so far I have been really impressed by all the products I've tried, I will leave links to the posts on the other products at the end of this post and if you're interested you can check those out, but today I am sharing my thoughts on the W7 Honolulu Bronzing Powder with you.
The first thing I noticed about the bronzing powder was that it looked very similar in packaging to the Benefit Hoola Bronzer, my youngest daughter Lissy uses Hoola and loves it so I asked her if she would mind using the W7 Honolulu Bronzing Powder for a while, so she could compare the two. I really like the packaging of the Honolulu, it's a lovely pink box and inside is a cute little brush with pink and white bristles.
The brush is ideal to use for contouring because of it's shape but can be used to apply the bronzing powder on other areas of the face.
The bronzer is a lovely shade and one I think would suit many skin tones, I'm quite pale but it's fine for me, my daughter has a lot darker skin tone than me and it's fine for her too. The pigmentation of the bronzing powder is fantastic, it applies well, looks lovely and stays nicely on the skin throughout the day without fading and is still visible on the skin when I remove my make up. I have used the bronzing powder for contouring, as a bronzer and as an eyeshadow, I find bronzers make great transition shades when applying my eye makeup. It works really well for all 3 purposes and is a really nice product and is also a fantastic price and very affordable.
Is The W7 Honolulu A Dupe For The Benefit Hoola?
The packaging of both the Benefit Hoola and the W7 Honolulu is very similar, they both come in a box with an extremely similar brush and the same plastic covering over the bronzer and I wondered if the bronzers would be similar or if maybe the W7 Honolulu could be a dupe for the Benefit Hoola so as I said, I asked my daughter Lissy to use the W7 Honolulu for a while as she uses the Hoola bronzer on a daily basis so would be able to compare the 2.
The shade of both bronzers is almost identical if not completely identical, I cannot see any difference in shades and neither could Lissy, Lissy uses the brush that comes with the Hoola bronzer so used the brush that comes with the Honolulu bronzer and said that they both apply exactly the same, she said the shade of the bronzer is the same and they both applied the same, the only difference between the bronzers was that the Benefit was slightly easier to blend out but only slightly.
As you can see from the swatch in the above photograph the shades of the bronzers are identical, they applied the same, looked the same and wore the same, there was only a slight difference in the blending but I would say and Lissy agrees that the W7 Honolulu Bronzing Powder is definitely a really good dupe for the Benefit Hoola Bronzer, the price difference is incredible, the Benefit Hoola is £23.50 and the W7 Honolulu is £2.99 making a price difference of £20.51, both bronzers contain 8g of product.
Overall I really like the Honolulu Bronzing Powder, it's a lovely product that applies well, looks lovely and wears really well on the skin. The bronzer is a fantastic price and very affordable and the fact that it is a dupe for the Benefit Hoola is an added bonus. I would highly recommend trying the Honolulu, it's a lovely contour product, a great bronzer and also a brilliant transition eyeshadow shade, it's a really great product and very versatile and if you're looking for a new contour or bronzer or both, I would highly recommend it.
